Top 10 seiyuu of 2011

Jan 03, 2012 15:30

Of all the anime - complete and incomplete - I've watched during the year 2011, these seiyuu stood out the most to me.

10. Hosoya Yoshimasa (Nezumi -NO. 6)

He made a great Ophelia, but his singing left much to be desired.  I kinda wish there'd been less singing, and more Ophelia from him.

9. Inoue Kazuhiko (Madara-Natsume Yuujinchou, Zoku Natsume Yuujinchou, Natsume Yuujinshou San)
His voice fits a large and powerful ayakashi, but I wish he showed more range in his voice.  He sounds exactly like Kakashi from Naruto and Novermber 11 from Darker Than Black.

8. Ueda Yuji (Chris Hawken-Earth Maiden Arjuna)
He did a wonderful job conveying an incredibly mature young boy.

7. Kitamura Eri (Miki Sayaka-Puella Magi Madoka Magica)
She displays a good amount of range in her voice, as opposed to former roles like Otonashi Saya - who is much more soft spoken compared to Sayaka's endless speeches on justice.

6. Kamiya Hiroshi (Natsume Takashi-Natsume Yuujinchou, Zoku Natsume Yuujinchou, Natsume Yuujinchou San)
The voice of a teenager afraid of his own abilities, and a fierce protector of his friends and loved ones.  Two aspects of a personality that are immediately opposite each other, and he does a wonderful job showing it.

5. Mizuki Nana (Kisaragi Saya-BLOOD-C)
Mizuki Nana doesn't show any spectacular difference in her voice compared to some previous roles.  There isn't much difference between Saya and Tsubomi from Heartcatch Precure.

4. Nakai Kazuya (Roronoa Zoro-One Piece, One Piece: Strong World)
Nakai gives life to a character who almost always wears a Slasher Smile who is also a loyal friend.  Who'da thunk?  Plus he does this.

3. Fukuyama Jun (Okamura Yukio-Ao no Exorcist)
Twin brother of the series's lead character. Fukuyama has two distinct voices, a softer younger voice, and an stronger more mature voice.  Yukio manages to combine them both in a more unique sound I've heard from Fukuyama.

2. Ohtani Ikue (Tony Tony Chopper-One Piece, One Piece:Strong World)
Cutest mascot voice ever.  'Nuff said.

1. Tanaka Mayumi (Monkey D. Luffy-One Piece, One Piece-Strong World)
To handle a character like Luffy, who is stupid, observant, caring, loyal, and of course badass, the corresponding seiyuu needs to be badass.  Tanaka Mayumi is just that.

anime, puella magi madoka magica, blood-c, one piece, natsume yuujinchou, no.6, list, seiyuu, earth maiden arjuna, ao no exorcist
