Hmm, the 1st link and 2nd link don't say exactly same history... I don't write good English, so if you don't want to read a poor English, don't read my comment lol

Spoilers of 2nd link :

After the funeral ceremony of the brother of Souma, Masataka (Tagami) didn't say nothing about what Souma did. He forgive Souma. And, Souma forgive Souma's father. Masataka cutted hair of Souma (=Souma had a long hair like his mother, to blame ? his father). Masataka told that he's a son of her mother who was raped by a man who isn't her husband. That's why Masataka was a little bit pessimiste (?), and loved but hated his little brother. And they... slept together, and Souma told "I love you" to Masataka. Masataka replied "I'm always yours, in all life". But next day, Masataka had to gone from the house of Souma (= ? maybe because he could passed his exam of the university ?). And !!!!! Kato agressed Souma with a knife. Because Tanaka is the father of the brother of Souma, and this boy loved Souma as you know. So Tanaka wanted to kill Souma and send him to heaven where his son went. Souma is injured, and go to under the tree of cherry blossom and says : "I'll live, because you told me that I have to live", the END... Hmm, finally this is a happy end ? ??

Sorry, a mistake of English : Souma had a long hair like his mother, to "revenge" on his father. But as Tagami forgive Souma, now Souma wants to forgive his father. Then, his father said sorry to Souma. Now Souma feels better so Tagami cutted the hair of Souma. Sorry, I don't write a good English.

Anyway, he must not die, because he told at the end, that he will live... but he's injured by Kato, who wanted to kill Souma for his son, to send (?) Souma to the heaven where his son (Sakurako) should be there, because Sakurako loves Souma. awww

Sorry, I'm Japanese and my English isn't good. But that's what was written on the 2nd link of the blog :s

Anyway, Souma must not die, because he decided to live. The blog owner says, Watase told that she doesn't kill someone (in the manga) who decided to live. It means Souma doesn't die, she thinks.

Yes me too, 1st link the blog owner says it's a happy end, so I was surprised about 2nd link !!! Anyway Souma should not die !!! But Tagami has gone from Souma's home... I want to read the next chapitre, but this is the end chapitre ^^"

maybe a happy end because Masataka accepts souma's feelings and souma decids to live for Masataka...I hope that Souma's injuries are not the last pictue of the manga!

Sorry again :

>The blog owner says, Watase told that she doesn't kill someone (in the
>manga) who decided to live. It means Souma doesn't die, she thinks.

The blog owner read the interview of Watase, and Watase says "Me I think, someone who has decided to continue de live, doesn't die. Me, I write a cherry blossom as a symbole of life, not as a symbole of die" (Note : In Japan, we have a image of die about cherry blossom because of a sentence "there's a body of dead person under the cherry blossom tree", from I think a poem or novel or something) so the blog owner thinks, Souma didn't dead. Oh, I hope there's someone who can translate in good English, sorry and thank you everyone !

Thank you so much for that translation! It just made me want to see chapter 9 even more!! There's another post in the comments that Yuu Watase intends to make a sequel of Sakura Gari so I hope he definitely lives.

And, I think that sentence "there's a body of a dead person under the sakura tree, which makes its petals pink", I seem to recall that concept coming from a short story that a Japanese writer wrote about either in Showa period or late Meiji era. I'm not entirely sure.... but, yeah, I read that somewhere... >.>
