Hi! *waves* Um, I'm pretty sure this is allowed by the comm (I read the rules, and it says nothing about this, but if there is something that I missed, please feel free to delete this), so I was wondering if you guys could help me out.
For my Journalism class, I'm doing an article about the licensing/dubbing of anime in the US, and how fan translations disappear over the Internet. Since recently, VIZ has been licensing a bunch of titles, I was wondering if you guys could answer a few questions.
- What is an anime show you've watched that has been licensed?
- How does the original with subtitles compare to the show on mainstream television?
- What is a manga series you've watched that has been licensed?
- How does the licensed version's translations compare to that of fan translations?
- Which do you prefer, the fansubbing or the dub? Why?
Also, if you have worked with a scanlation group/fansub group, I was wondering if anyone who works on the staff could give me:
- The procedure for the site when a manga is licensed
- How you feel about the licensing and
- What you hope licensing companies will do in the future.
Could you please leave your name, age and email at the end of the comment? This information will not be given to anyone but me and my journalism teacher for contact purposes, if need be (most likely, she won't contact you though I might).
Please use good grammar with complete sentences so I do not have to "doctor" quotes.

Thank you.
