ENTRY 02
TITLE: Bellegarde
RATING: PG-13
WORDCOUNT: ~7100
NOTES: My AU setting for this is World War II, French Resistance. Slight debt of thanks to the films Charlotte Gray and Inglourious Basterds and maybe a little of Hemingway’s For Whom the Bell Tolls to help me envision this universe. The town of Bellegarde exists (I Google Map things for fun) ( Read more... )

I absolutely loved this. I felt like... even though it was set in another place and time, Sho and Jun remained so very Sho and Jun. You couldn't take out their names and replace it with others, because it's them and how they'd react to their surroundings, to each other.

I loved how Nino wanted to be a part of things for the explosions, how Aiba was helping in his own way, that Ohno was sort of a leader while Sho was the more obvious and active one.

I could probably say more, but for now just have my love. ♥

yay historical AU! I really enjoyed reading this, your sense of pacing is very good. And the characterisation was spot on; the tricky thing with AUs is making the reader still believe that it's *them* despite the different setting and upbringings and experience. You got it. Well done, Author-san!

okay. wow. just. wow.

I can't even begin with how much I love this. The WWII setting and the boys being resistance group. I love the plot, the characters' role and interaction with each other, but what I love the most is how true to character you wrote them as, even in their AU selves. You're just so fecking spot on, I can't even.

Bwah. I'm going to have such a hard time deciding which fic to vote for!

Great job, really enjoyed it <3.

i really don't like historical fiction but you got me on the first line. :)

i love it when it's a slow progression. when they don't like each other at first and then it grows.

i also love how everyone had a part in it. <3

the ending was so sweet, it made me tear up a little.

this was all kinds of wonderful, thanks for writing this!
