Grace is a Pirate

May 28, 2007 02:24

Arrrr.

Okies, so I went with Khara (and Nichole and Mary and LOADS of other people I didn't know) to see Pirates on Sunday afternoon. We met at 6, and found out we were going to the 9.30 showing. Oi, late. Anyway. There were about ten of us there in costume. ^_^ One girl wanted my medallion and kept trying to steal it from me. The manager of the Bayou (in the Avenue) was too excited and wanted a photo of all of us pirates to put up on the wall. So if you go in there, look for a picture of me. ^_~

I snuck in a tape recorder to the movie. Not a video recorder, but a tape recorder. I bought the recorder to bring to Charlie Brown rehersals back in Fall '05, because Frutchey was all "I'm only teaching this once! rawr" and wanted us to record it. Didn't use it for that. Anyway.

If you want something from the movie transcribed, I've PROBABLY got it on the tape, cause I forgot that the 90 on the side of the tape means 90 minutes for the ENTIRE tape, not one side, so I've got the first 45 minutes of the movie and then important scenes and quotes from the second two hours. So, yeah, I've pirated Pirates. XD Always wanted to say that.

Anyway, here's what I've transcribed so far. I might spend some time in Japan working on transcribing this, but probably not, so... you'll have to live with it. XD And corrections and debates are welcome.

Will: Barbossa! Ahead!
Hector: Aye! We're good and lost now.
Elizabeth: Lost?!
Hector: For certain you have to be lost to find the place that can't be found. Else ways, everyone would know where it was.
Gibbs: We're gaining speed!
Hector: Aye!
Will: To stations! All hands to stations! -- some naval instructions --
Hector: NAY! Belay that! Let 'er run straight and true!
Elizabeth: You've doomed us all.
Hector: Don't be so unkind. You may not survive to pass this way again. And these be the last friendly words you'll hear.
Will: Tie 'er off.
Elizabeth: Hard to port!
Will: Hold on!
Hector: Ah ha ha ha ha! (laughter. XD)

Jack: My peanut. All hands! Second braces! Aye Captain! Second bases! Step lively! (or something like that)
-- something something --
Help.
Man the irons you filthy toads!
*gives birth to an egg*
Ho! Ho! Ho!
*hits on the goat*
--something nautical--
Aye sir! Right away sir!
*saunters over to himself* Mr. Sparrow.
Aye Captain.
What say you about the condition of this tack line?
It be proper to my eyes, sir.
Proper? It is neither proper nor suitable, sir. It is not acceptable, nor adequate it is an obvious fact, an abomination.
Beggin' your pardon, sir. Perhaps if you gave a man another chance?
Shall I? *draws sword and stabs him* That sort of thinking got us into this mess. We have lost speed, and therefore time. Precious time, which cannot be recovered once lost! Do you understand?!
Aye Captain! (x3) Aye Aye Captain.
Do you now!? It will all have to be redone! All of it! And let this serve as a lesson to the lot of you.
Doldrums, sir, has the entire crew on edge.
I have no sympathy for any of you feculant maggots and no more patience to pretend otherwise. *grabs line* Gentlemen, I wash my hands of this weirdness. *jumps off, lands* *tests for wind*
No wind. Of course there's no bloody wind! By soul, I do swear for a breeze. A gust, a whisper! A tiny, minature lick! *sniffs, finds a rock, throws it*
He's... lying low for a while, why would he do that?
Because he's a lummox, isn't he?
Well, we shall have a magnificent garden party, and you're not invited. *sees rock, tries to scare it away, picks it up*
A rock. *throws said rock* *rock changes into crab*
Now we're being followed by rocks. I've never heard that before. Oh! *sees a line* A rope! *pulls it, a lot of it falls down*
*decides to pull the rope*
*crabs move ship, Jack decides to follow*

Gibbs: This truely is a god-forsaken place.
Elizabeth: I don't see Jack. I don't see anyone.
Hector: He's here! Davy Jones never once gave up, that way he took.
Will: But does it matter? We're trapped here by your doing, not --- by Jack.
Tia Dalma: Witty Jack is closer than you 'tink.
*Pearl comes over the horizon with Jack on the mast*
Singapore dude: Impossible.
Ragetti: Boat.
Gibbs: Slap me thrice and hand me to me mumma, it's Jack!
Pintel: It's the Captain!
--something I can't understand--
Gibbs: Jack!
Jack: Mr. Gibbs!
Gibbs: Aye, Captain?
Jack: I thought so. I expect you're able to account for your actions, then?
Gibbs: Sir?
Jack: There has been a perpetual and virilent lack of discipline upon my vessel! Why? Why is that, sir!
Gibbs: Sir, you're... You're in Davy Jones's Locker.
Jack: I know that. I know where I am. And don't think I don't!
Hector: Jack Sparrow!
Jack: Ah! Hector! It's been too long! Hasn't it?
Hector: Aye. Isle de Muerta, remember? You shot me.
Jack: No I didn't. Tia Dalma! Out and about, eh? You add an agreeable sense of macabre to any delirium.
Will: He thinks we're an hallucination.
Jack: William, tell me something. Did you come because you need my help to save some distressing dansel? nnnn... or, rather, a damsel-in-distress? Either one.
Will: No.
Jack: Then you wouldn't be here, would you? So you can't be here. QED, you're not really here!
Elizabeth: Jack? *Jack stops* This is real, we're here.
*Jack turns to Gibbs*
Jack: The Locker, you say?
Gibbs: Aye.
Elizabeth: We've come to rescue you!
Jack: Have you now? Very kind of you. But it would seem that as I possess a ship and you don't, you're the ones in need of rescuing. I'm not sure as I'm in the mood.
Hector: I see my ship. Right there.
Jack: Can't spot it! Must be a tiny little thing, hiding somewhere behind the Pearl.
Will: Jack! Cutler Beckett has the heart of Davy Jones! He controls the Flying Dutchman.
Elizabeth: He's taking over the seas.
Tia Dalma: The song has already been sung. The Bretheren Court is called.
Jack: Leave you people alone for just a minute and look what happens, everything's gone to pot!
Gibbs: Aye, Jack, the world needs you back somethin' fierce!
Will: And you need a crew!
Jack: Why should I sail with any of you? Four of you have tried to kill me in the past, one of you succeeded. Oh. She's not told you? You'll have loads to talk about while you're here. As for you--
Tia Dalma: Now, don't tell me you didn't enjoy it, at the time--
Jack: Very well, all right, you're in. I don't need you, you scare me. Gibbs, you come, Marty. Uhh. Cotton! Cotton's parrot, I'm a little iffy but, at least I'll have someone to talk to. Who are you?
Tai Wong: Tai Wong! These are my men.
Jack: Where do your alliegences lie?
Tai: With the highest bidder.
Jack: I have a ship.
Tai: That makes you the highest bidder.
Jack: Good man. Weigh anchor, all hands, prepare to make sail!
Hector: Jack. Which way ya goin', Jack?

Hector: Trim that sail! Short windward braces! Pull the pinnet line! What arr ya doin'? ( I don't know nearly as many nautical phrases as I should)
Jack: What are you doing?
Hector: No! What arr ya doin'?
Jack: What are you doing?
Hector: No! What arr ya doin'?!
Jack: What are you doing--nnnn Captain gives orders on the ship!
Hector: The Captain of the ship is giving orders!
Jack: My ship! Makes me Captain!
Hector: They be my charts!
Jack: Well that makes you... chart-man.
Pintel: Stow it! The both of you! And that's an order! Understand? Sorry. I just thought that with the Captain issue in doubt I'd just throw in my name for consideration. Sorry.
*Jack and Hector storm to the helm*
Ragetti: I'd vote for ya.

Tia Dalma: They should be in the care of Davy Jones. That was the duty he was charged with by the goddess, Calypso. To ferry those who die at sea to the other side. And every ten years, he could come ashore, to be with she who love him, truely! But the man has become a monster!

Stand down!
Don't stand down! Come again?
The Dutchman must have a captain.
Well that's even more less than unhelpful.
Sail the seas for eternity.
I love the sea.
What about ---?
I prefer rum. Rum's good.
Making port? So we can get rum, and assorted wenches, once every ten years.
What he say?
Once every ten years.
Ten years is a long time, mate.
Even longer given the deficit of rum.
But eternity is longer still. And how will you be spending it? Dead? Or not?
The immortal Captain Sparrow.
Ooh, I like that.
Come sunset, it won't matter.
Not sunset... sundown! And rise... Up! What's that?! What is that? I dunno, what do you think? Where? There! Oh!

Will: There's a freshwater spring on this island. We can resupply there, and go back to shooting each other later.
Jack: You take the shore party, I'll stay with my ship.
Hector: I'm not leaving my ship in your command.
Will: Why don't you both go ashore, and leave the ship in my command? Temporarily.

Hector: You know, the problem with being the last of anything... by and by there'll be none left at all.
Jack: Sometimes things come back, mate. We're living proof, you and me.
Hector: Aye, but that's a gamble of long odds, ain't it? There's never a guarantee of comin' back. Passin' on, now that's dead certain.
Jack: Summoning the Bretheren Court then, is it?
Hector: Our only hope, lad.
Jack: That's a sad commentary in and of itself.
Hector: The world used to be a bigger place.
Jack: The world's still the same. There's just... less in it.

Will: There's another fight to be had.
Gibbs: We've an Armada against us. And with the Dutchman there's no chance.
Elizabeth: It's only a fool's chance.
Hector: Revenge won't bring your father back, Miss Swann. And it's not something I intend to die for.
Elizabeth: You're right. Then what shall we die for? You will listen to me. Listen! The Bretheren will still be looking here, to us, to the Black Pearl to lead. And what will they see? Frightened bilge rats on a derelict ship? No. No, they will see free men! And freedom! And what the enemy will see is the flash of our cannons, they will hear the ring of our swords and they will know what we can do! By the sweat of our brows, and the strength of our backs, and the courage of our hearts... Gentlemen, hoist the colours.
Will: Hoist the colours.
Pintel or Ragetti: Hoist the colours.
Gibbs: Hoist the colours! Aye, the wind's on our side boys... That's all we need!
Elizabeth: HOIST THE COLOURS!

Think like Will think like Will think like Will --
--something about leverage--
Leverage!
*breaks out*
Wish us luck boys, we'll need it.
I miss him already.
He is quite charming, isn't he?
NOBODY MOVE! Dropped me brain.

I only transcribed that second scene cause it was right after Elizabeth's speech on the tape. XD And cause I really wanted her speech, cause I loved it. ^_^
