I am the Saks Offender, also known as R. My goal is to share my opinions on fashion and life with whoever will read them.
Everyone talks about finding your "personal style." As if it were so easy to define. I am very anti-p.s. (personal style), because it's so limiting. Fashion is supposed to be fun, and it's just so exciting to wear things like leopard with pearls. How do you define that? "Eclectic?" That's stupid, because everyone should be eclectic in their style. It's BORING to wear the same type of things day after day. Honestly, how many times have you worn a black skirt or dark skinny jeans this week? Yawn. Your p.s. must be "old and tired."
People need to stop putting themselves in these p.s. boxes, and start having a good time with fashion again. Buy green boots, who cares if they don't match with anything you own?
I'll admit, I was recently stuck in a p.s. rut. Dark colored dresses with black stockings and heels, practically 24/7. It's a good look, but it's so stale. I'm ready to add some flavor to my closet.
Buy the fabulous shoes that jump out at you, not the shoes that go with everything. You'll take them home and find something that will work with them.
What I'm loving now:
Sequins. I'm not expecting to wear them next season, but I love them atm. They scream "look at me!" and are so fashion-forward. I love this French Connection sheath dress, as seen on celebrities such as Paris Hilton:
http://www.fcusbuymail.com/ProductDetails.aspx?language=en-US&ProductID=71Y5X&CategoryID=w_dressesPlease, get it in "mole." The jasmine color is obnoxious. I wore this dress to a party recently, and it looked stunning with black sheer stockings. Downside? It's such a short and delicate dress, you can't really dance in it. You'll be the prettiest wallflower, though. (Note, the dress runs big. Get it in a smaller size.)
I also adore this Free People mini skirt:

Free People "Disco Sparkle Mini", $98 (I love it with those patterned black stockings)

Parisian women! (pictures from style.com) Their clothes are gorgeous, and they know how to work it.
They are so cute. I love how they are wearing the short dresses with skinny jeans. I would never do it, but they look fabulous.
Her shoes are amazing, like a special surprise when you look down. I must get some silver heels. I'd wear them like her, but with a shorter black dress.
I love mini dresses, and I love gloves. This woman looks hot! Note to self, get some black leather gloves ASAP.
Adorable, the epitome of a Paris woman. Being old doesn't mean sacrificing fashion.
