Garasu no Kamen [J-Drama]
Hahahaha XD That got your attention right? :P *shot* Anywho, this post is purely made to promote my new-found love for "Garasu no Kamen" aka "Glass Mask" ^___^
After being frustated with the extremely slow appearances of the "Skip Beat!" episodes, I thought I'd take a look at something else in the meantime. So, I checked out the SB! page on MAL, and saw a recommendation for Glass Mask. The thing that struck me most was that it's actually a classic, and has been made twice in anime format + it has it's own manga & drama And I'm a total sucker for dramas (´w`) Anyway, I started wathing the latest anime vers of "Glass Mask" and I really feel in love with the charas. HOWEVER, I only got the chance to watch the first 5 epis, .... somehow, I can't put my hands on the other ones (there are 51 in all). So, I was disappointed ... until I found the drama ! I managed to find this cool site where they collect ALL KINDS of dramas & movies from Asia ♥♥♥ ---> www.mysoju.com Anywho, I got the privilege of watching both seasons (23 epis in all) this past week. I was so engrossed with the charas, I just couldn't stop watching them grow~
[ABOUT]
"Glass Mask" is about a young girl, Kitajima Maya, who loves movies & acting. One day, she manages to act in a school play and attracts a top actress from 20 years ago. Tsukikage Chigusa was once known for her great beauty and magnificent acting. Sadly, because of a stage accident, she had to retire form the world of acting. However, once she retired, she took with her the elusive play "Kurenai Tennyo" (Crimson Goddess), never allowing it to see the day. Now, she yearns to find a new "Crimson Goddess" and believes to have found her in Maya. So, Maya proceeds to learning acting as much as she can, in order to become the Crimson Goddess.
[CHARACTERS]
Kitajima Maya: Bright & cheerful 13 year old, who aspires to become the next "Crimson Goddess". She is strong willed and nothing can get in the way of her acting. For Maya, acting equals life; as long as she can act, she can feel alive. The day she'll have to stop, is the day her heart will die. She is often refered to as the girl of a "thousand masks"
Tsukikage Chigusa: The former "Crimson Goddess", adored & acclaimed by all as one of the best actresses of her time. She refuses to give the production rights to any company and/or director because she wants to "raise" the next actress herself.
Hayami Masumi: A cold & heartless man, who wants nothing else than the production rights to the famous "Kurenai Tennyo". He is the Executive Vice-President of "Daitou Productions", and works diligently to keep his father's dream alive of gaining the rights to the play. Masumi slowly starts to change when he meets Maya, and starts leaning towards her, creating the character of the "Murasaki Bara no Hito" (Purple rose man). He uses this stage name in order to help Maya, without letting anyone know it's him, and sends her purple roses to encourage her.
Himekawa Ayumi: Another 13 year old actress, daughter of a very famous director and actress. She is quick to declare that Maya is her one and only rival in the acting industry, causing a turmoil amongst the other actors & directors. Even though Ayumi competes against Maya for the role of the "Crimson Goddess", she always helps her whenever she gets into trouble. Ayumi is often referred to as a genius, due to her young age & great abilities.

First of all, I seriously ship Maya X Masumi like, REAL hard XD I think I'm gonna declare, here and now, that they are, my most favorite couple ♥ They have such a love-hate relationship but somehow, they are always drawn to each other. My heart goes out to Masumi srsl, for sticking to his beliefs throughout the series. God knows Maya has quite a bad temper when it comes to him and, he still stuck around till the very end. Nao, I have a total fetish for purple roses .... I want to try growing some in my garden *__*
#2, I wanted to see more of Tsukikage-sensei's acting ;__; & I want her to be happy with Ichiren ♥
