I didn't get my hair cut because we ran out of time. D: Sigh. Oh well. I've been putting it off for months, I can put it off another day. Anyone know how West Side Hair Co. in Westdale is?
So Mengyi, Kristian and I went to see Forbidden Kingdom today. Now, I may be horribly biased because I love Jackie Chan but I thought the movie was very cute and entertaining. Lots of martial arts fight scenes, including one that's pretty long with Jackie and Jet Li. Interesting story concept (the group has to go on a journey to return the golden stick to the Monkey King, which he uses as his weapon, and I love Journey to the West). You also get to see Jackie as a funny drunk throughout the movie.
However, the movie is also very corny and cheesy, which is one of my biggest quips. It's cliché in that the main hero is some kid who is unlike any other kid who somehow ends up in this other world (i.e. Ancient China) and is fated to be the one who fulfils this prophecy. He also meets a few useful companions on the way, including a pretty Chinese girl who acts as an ambiguous love interest, but she is focused on avenging her family yada yada yada.
With all that being said though, I still enjoyed the movie. It has more than enough action and funny moments for me to overlook the corn and cheese.
