This is really kinda silly but most of you know how I've been studying Japanese for three years here at Mac and wasn't able to take the 4th year courses this year because they weren't being offered. :( So I've been really out of practice.
Today on poupeegirl, a girl sent me a friend request with this message:
I really like your closet and poupee!
If it's alright, let's be poupee friends! (>_<)
So I checked out her profile and it turns out that she's from Tokyo and is currently studying English here in Canada. So I replied (and it took me a good while to type this all up lol):
私は今マクマスター大学で勉強してるんです。そして、大学で日本語を勉強したことがあります!だけど、やっぱりまだまだです。 ^^;
Thank you very much!
Your closet and poupee are wonderful too!
So you're studying English right now.
I'm also living in Canada (born in Toronto)!
I'm currently studying at McMaster University. I've studied Japanese here too! However, it's really not that great. ^^;
Sorry for the weird use of the language. It's been a long time since I've practiced! lol
If you have any questions regarding English, please feel free to ask me!
And then she replied:
私は今、UNBC(University of Northern British Columbia )で勉強しています。
Thanks for the reply! :-)
I'm very happy! ♥
So you were born in Toronto!
You have such good Japanese that I thought you were a Japanese person living in Japan! (lol, no way)
I'm currently studying at the University of Northern British Columbia.
I return to Japan next January.
Canada is such a great country that if it were possible, I don't wanna go back! lol
I don't have any questions about English but if it's alright, could I send you messages from time to time?
I've never been to Ontario and there are various things I want to learn!
I'm just so happy that I can still manage to communicate somewhat coherently in Japanese, haha. *_* I don't want the past 3 years to go to waste but I don't have the self-discipline to keep going by myself. Maybe I'll take up a class in Toronto somewhere after I graduate this year. :D
