Christmas break
Ah, I just remembered that I said I'd do a post for Christmas break but never got around to it. UNTIL NOW! 8D
Okay so basically, 90% of my Christmas break was shopping/walking/eating/hanging out. I'm sure you guys are curious as to how the visit with Eric went (and this is awkward because he reads my LJ :/) but it was pretty good. He's a lot quieter than I thought he'd be. And let's just say, I realize that I'm possibly the worst Torontonian to ask stuff about Toronto. Never go souvenir shopping with me. It just won't work. OTL
Anyway so, highlights!
1. First day we met, we went to go sing karaoke with Cindy and Chu and omfggg, they have Tenimyu songs! Like seriously! ♪ Do Your Best and ♪ FGKS and Kimeru songs and asdljkfla! ♥ ♥ ♥ This news even has Mengyi keen on going to karaoke bwahaha!
2. Went to go visit Mengyi in Mississauga. Ended up going to see Sherlock Holmes (which was okay) and had dessert at Demetri's guhhh :Q___ I'm craving crepes now.
3. Christmas Dayyy! Of course, the annual family gathering is always delicious if not always obnoxious. 8D It really sucks because the "young people" in the family are either much older or way younger. So I'm kinda stuck in the middle. :/ Older cousins are still pretty cool though. Ahhh, and I still haven't seen Joe's baby girl, Olivia, yet! Dx What is this?! (Though srsly guys, just 'cos Lily named her kids Oscar and Ophelia doesn't mean you need to name your kid with an O name too. >> Though I do like the name Olivia the most out of the three.)
3. Secret Santa (or rather, White Elephant(?) as Eric calls it) with Lily and company! Went to Mississauga (like... 2 days after we went there the first time OTL) and ate food, exchanged gifts, went to Mengyi's house and played video games. すごく楽しかった！ I wish we had a game of mahjong though. :(
4. Dim sum, Rock Band and Greek food the next day with Lily and company! Ahhh so much Rock Band. And the only song I could do vocals for was ♪ Chop Suey by System of a Down. Fuck, that song is embarrassing to sing. OTL
... Yeah. I had to sing that. TWICE.
5. Lots and lots of shopping and walking and food and movie watching (okay, maybe not so much of that last one but still... I almost never watch movies).
6. HOT POT. TIMES TWO. Because my parents went out and got a hot pot set, they had put it to use on the Saturday before I left for Hamilton. It's kinda lulsy how the hotplate has a carbon monoxide warning and everything. Shirley and I were kinda creeped out but it was a delicious experience. And then I... had hot pot again. The next day. OTL This was delicious too! Different ingredients and different broths so yummm. :3
As for Christmas loot, I got:
- George Foreman grill! (omg paninis galore! ♥)
- awesome Secret Santa gift from Chu (poor girl didn't realize there was a $10 limit and ended up spending like... $30. OTL THANK YOU CHU ♥) that had a gingerbread house lantern, a cute handkerchief, peel-off nail polish (SO COOL), and an ugly doll
- cuuuute mini macarons from Moo and Matt! They look so delicious that I'm getting kinda peckish now D:
- black knit shirt from Zara (so warmmm)
- huuuuge cup with a penguin plushie in it (could eat soup with it :3)
- my mom to help me pay for part of my new laptop ♥ (YESSU)
- music stand (homg I wanted one for so long) and a lovely silver necklace w/ a purple pendant 8D
- $20 Tim Hortons card but left it at home. My dad would probably make better use of it. Instead of coffee, I'd just keep buying donuts and god knows I don't need to eat more junk than I already do
Anddd, that's about it, I think. Now I'm back at school with more house troubles and an Iwai-sensei who's making 3ZZ3 even more scary/painful than before. I will post up my house troubles soon. There's so much going on I just-- auasldjkf. My marks last term suffered because of the house and now this. It just never ends. D:
