I got the job! Yaaay! Okay, I haven't really been updating this journal so here's what's been going on:
1) My mom handed my resume over to DFS. I went for a "chat" with another lady who works there this past Monday. HR called me today and said I got the job! This is awesome because:
a) Good pay. They're paying me more this time than they did two summers ago. $14.20/hr, 7.25 hours per day. It's also from Monday - Friday soooo... I be rakin' it in! 8D *punched*
b) I won't have to worry about going back to that retail job. It seems that Danny is a bit shorthanded. According to my mom, he's there everyday now, working. (Also, Jackie, WTH is with your curly-curly perm?! Just 'cos every other male Asian celeb has it?! She didn't even recognize me when I went in. :/) This also means no more ridiculously long shifts with no breaks and no sitting (at least not for this summer, lol).
c) Office job = air conditioning! ♥
2) On a more serious note, I don't think my marks are good enough. Yet again. I don't know what to do about that anymore. I think I'll just go part-time next year and keep boosting up my average while studying this stuff on my own. I want to go discuss my options with an academic advisor but with this new job, when will I have the time to go? I've thought about just finishing up with Classics here and then go to college for web design, like Sheridan or something, but most programs that I look at require you to have a degree in design or something related to the field. Classics = no.
I'm such a failure as a student. I still don't know how I'm going to break this to my mom.
3) Went to see that Wolverine movie with Mengyi yesterday. It was... good! I expected more but it IS a sort of prequel to the X-Men so... you can't expect too much, I guess. Hugh Jackson = ♥. Daniel Henney also played a really suave and smooth jerk. Chibi!Wolverine is soooo adorable. T_T He was so innocent-looking!
4) I want to get an industrial on my left ear. If not that, then at least a helix piercing. I still have to ask my mom about that though, lol.
5) I'm determined to lose weight this summer. I will take advantage of the gym they have in the basement of the office building and try not to eat as much junk anymore. MG is also determined to do the same this summer. Hopefully, our efforts won't go to waste once we get back to Hamilton. OTL
6) If all goes well, the restaurant will be sold at the end of the month. No more stress and worries over that! I'm sad that this didn't work out since my dad and Ken were really enthusiastic about this before, but I'm also glad that we don't have to worry about this anymore. I just hope the offer actually goes through.
7) Played DDR again for the first time in YEARS at Playdium yesterday. I don't know how I managed to convince MG to play it with me but it was a weekday afternoon anyway so it was pretty much empty. *sigh* I've been reduced to standard difficulty. ;_; Also played Street Fighter IV, Midnight Club 3, Time Crisis 4 and some other shooting games. I also wanted to play Guitar Freaks/Drummania but we ended up spending all our credits on LA Machine Guns. OTL
I think that's about it as far as life updates go. I was supposed to go out with some old friends today but the get-together got cancelled since it's supposed to rain this evening. :/ Ah well. Beach day on Saturday!
