birthday, charity ball and other things
Birthday
Ahh, that was pretty fun. :3 We didn't do very much and it wasn't a huge crowd but it was enjoyable, haha. It really sucks having your birthday fall during such a busy time. Plus, I had a midterm earlier that day and had waken up early so I was pretty much dead by the middle of it. x_x Aughhh, I should put more effort into this next year, haha. Maybe we'll go out next time? :O
We played a round of Cranium, which was super fun, haha. I've only ever played it one other time in first year. I had to act out 'breakdancing' at one point. Thank god Don figured out what it was like... 1 second into the act, LOL.
Thanks for the awesome gifts, you guys! I was gonna post pictures of them but I have no batteries for my camera right now. ._.a
I really wish AoE had worked out though arggggg
Charity Ball
Now, if you know me, formals aren't really my thing but I decided to go since a huge bunch of you guys are graduating this year and who knows when I'll ever get another chance to a huge event like this with all of you. ;_;
Music was good, food was pretty good, people were dressed fancy, the theme was great! Pirates! Everybody loves piratesss, yarrrg.
There's a crapload of pictures that people took during the event on Facebook so if you're curious, they're all on Mengyi and Moo's Facebook pages.
It was really embarrassing trying to get through. I didn't bring any ID with me so I had to get two purple wristbands and X's marked on my hands because I'm "underage." I had to leave my student card with them and if I lose any of the wristbands, I won't get it back. And if I get caught drinking, they'll fine me, etc. etc.
Well, not like I can drink much anyway. Plus, the drinks were super expensive, apparently. x_x
The entire time, I was expecting someone to flag me down as a waitress since I was practically dressed like one, rofl. It didn't happen. I'm glad. x_x;
There was one point while we were dancing where a tall white kid came by our group and started awkwardly grinding Cindy. x_x We were all kinda "ehhhh..." and then he moved onto Mengyi he just kinda stayed there for a good few minutes while Mengyi tried to avoid him and the rest of us were just dancing awkwardly while shooting each other weird glances, lolol.
I think he must've been seriously drunk or something because then he went into the middle of our circle and tried to pull off this move where you jump and then land with one leg extended and the other tucked under, and then you pull yourself up. Well, he failed and kinda rolled around a bit before he got back up and did it again, LOL. Uhh, very awkward.
The food was alright. They didn't serve any main courses or anything, it was really just continuous rounds of buffet tables full of hors d'oeuvres. It was yummy though, for the most part. You just had to make sure to keep your eye out when they start serving a new round or else you're gonna have to wait a loooong time behind other people wanting food.
Uhh, we didn't do very much other than eat, dance and take pictures, I guess, haha. It was still fun though. ♥
Other Things
Okay, I woke up this morning at 8:23 wide awake (though significantly less awake now T_T) with El Ten Eleven playing in my head and sudden inspiration and urge to work on my website. OF ALL TIMES, WHY DOES INSPIRATION HIT NOW?! There's a couple of problems:
1) I still don't have a domain.
2) I have a crapload of other stuff to focus on first (1 midterm, 1 assignment and 2 tests this week).
I guess it's because I've been immersing myself in El Ten Eleven the past several days (the same band who did several songs for the documentary, Helvetica) and really nice design work lately (wishing that I was able to do something like that). OTL
I'm definitely going to start sketching out my plans for the website right now before what is likely that I'll fall back asleep since I've only had 5 hours of sleep. x_x But arughhh, so much frustration! WHY NOWWW?!
Btw, I still haven't figured out a domain name yet. OTL
I also want to start up doing a little bit of photography (just 'cos I'm so bad at taking pictures right now). I realize I need to get a new camera though, not just for the hobby, but also for future projects. I can't even get a decent resolution from my current digicam right now (it's a super old 3.2MP Fujifilm FinePix camera) so I'm going to start looking into digital cameras now. Any recommendations?
