“Hey, Ryutaro.”
A voice called out from nowhere that made Ryutaro opened his eyes and looked at the sky.
He was having a nap at the rooftop of Horikoshi Gakuen. He sighed and ran his fingers through his hair. Ryutaro started to take a deep breath and was shined by the sun. He heard the ring, signaling that he should be at his class in 5 minutes. He stood from where he is and walked away.
Apparently, he was looking down and didn’t care about the other students who were looking at him and was mesmerized by his handsome figure. Years passed and now he is a graduating student. He reached his room and sat down on his chair.
He looked out of the window and looked at the blue sky. He always remembers someone when he looks at the sky. It allows him to reminisce something that completed his life.
“Ryu!” Juri called.
“Osu~” Another gloomy reply of the boy.
“Oh, c’mon! We’ve been classmate for 2 years, and just an ‘Osu~’? You never changed since then.” Juri was irritated with what he’s friend kept on acting for the past 2 years.
Ryutaro gave out a smile of a dog, which was very obvious. He patted Juri’s back and pointed to Juri’s seat, which means, “Just seat.” Juri had nothing to do, and so he did. Another classmate came in to the room and sat next to Ryutaro, he smiled at him which made Ryutaro looked away.
“See! That’s what I’m talking about! We’ve been classmates and he acts like this! Ah, I want the old Ryutaro back.” Juri exclaimed.
“That’s ok, let him be Juri.” Yukito butted in.
Ryutaro blushed inside of him. This person reminds him a special person. And that made him act awkward with Yukito.
“Ch-“ Ryutaro stopped when he looked at the door where the teacher’s comes in.
He saw a figure, he was sure he knows that figure. And another thing he was sure, that wasn’t Yukito. He reassured himself that Yukito was beside his seat. He was there.
“Juri, cover for me, a’ryt?” Ryutaro ran outside and followed a figure.
The figure kept on hunting him. He didn’t know why, but he wanted to make sure that it wasn’t just an imagination. He ended up at the school’s garden. He panted as he looked around him. He was alone. He never saw anyone. He drops his self down on his knees, and break out.
“I still miss you, Chii.” He exclaimed.
He felt a cold air wrapped around him, it made him comfortable for a moment. He really liked the atmosphere of just that. It felt that Chinen was there. It felt that he’s alive and he was hugging him. Suddenly, words inside Ryutaro, was heard. He stopped crying and wiped his tears.
A person, stood there. In front of him, he was there. Chinen Yuuri was looking at him smiling. He started to walk to the boy and helped him stand. Chinen held Ryutaro’s hand as if he was alive. Ryutaro was confused to the turn of event. 2 years ago, Chinen was in a car crash accident and was buried. Now, he’s here standing in front of him.
“Why are you still suffering because of my death? Didn’t Yabu told you not to regret anything. It’s not your fault, it’s already my time. Everything has its meaning. Please stop this. I don’t want to see you suffering because of me. Don’t make other people sad too. You make them, by doing all the cold relationship with them.” Chinen smiled with his beautiful and stunning smile.
Ryutaro touched his face slowly, trying to feel if he was alive. He touched him. He cried again, and hugged the image of Chinen. He let go and pulled Chinen in for a kiss.
“Ryutaro, live your life, and go on. Please. Stop your sulking because of this. I wanted to talk to you for the last time. He allowed me.” Chinen looked at the sky.
Chinen’s image started to drift away. Ryutaro didn’t want to let go of his hands, but there was nothing to do. He had died, for 2 years. He’s never coming back.
Ryutaro rubbed his eyes. He looked around, and he was in the rooftop. It was just a dream. Just a dream, but for him it was that meaningful. He looks at the blue sky, full of clouds. He smiled and chuckled.
“You still care, huh?” Ryutaro smiled down on his self.
He ran down and goes into his classroom. He taps Juri’s back and smiled. Ryutaro started to chat with them; Juri smirked and didn’t respond to his last words.
“Hey, what happened? You’re all good today! I missed that attitude of yours! It’s been like what? 2 years man! 2 years since you joke like that and talk like that!” Juri claimed and chuckled.
Ryutaro looked out at the skies and pulled Juri.
“See that?”
“Yeah, all people can see the sky, idiot.” Juri smirked.
“It has always been watching me. And the sky wants me to be happy.” Ryutaro smiled to himself.
Juri rolled his eyes on the boy’s word. It was weird enough for him to know what Ryutaro was talking about, but he was getting half of it. A minute passed, Yukito put his hands over Ryutaro and Juri’s shoulder.
“What’s up with you guys? Oh! You’re smiling, Ryu-tan!” Yukito smiled.
“You called me what?”
“Oh, sorry! I was thinking that nickname was cute for you.”
“Ryu-tan, huh? Yeah, it’s cute.” Ryutaro smiled.
Ryutaro sat as their teacher came in. Classes have ended, and its time for him to go to his rehearsals. He entered HSJ’s dressing room. He dropped his backpack and sat down.
“Oi! Ryutaro, you want to go eat somewhere after this?” Yabu started.
“Yeah, and let’s go to Chinen’s graveyard. It’s been exactly 2 years since he-“Yabu stopped Yamada from continuing.
Ryutaro looked at them and gave a dull expression.
“Sure!” He smiled, and this time it was real.
Yabu and the others was shock at Ryutaro’s smile. It was just like the smile he gave when Chinen was still there. It was real, and true. They smiled back, and have their rehearsals.
Every pain has an end. And every suffering has an end too. Though, it is up to you on how to accept these kinds of matters. Life must go on, and live you life to the fullest. Don’t do anything that you’ll regret, everything you do has a meaning to it. That’s what this story is about.
