Thank you so much! ♥ It was challenging to get the tone the way I wanted it because John has obviously just been faced with a lot of startling revelations and yet he is maintaining his composure. He is good under stress, but that doesn't mean the stress isn't there...

I've been fairly steady with updates lately and I hope I can continue in that way. (Fingers crossed and RL behaving!)

Ah yes, the greatest mystery of all - what is John? Moriarty so coveted the bond that he and Sherlock shared; it makes me wonder what he knew, and how.

Exactly! When Sherlock says at the pool that he has been informed he doesn't have a heart, Moriarty says, "But we both know that's not quite true." He's more observant than many others, sees the caring through the rudeness and willfulness, although he appears to have gotten Molly wrong, he didn't see through the demeanor there. Nevertheless, the whole pool scene, the visit to Baker Street when he says he wishes he had a live-in pet and the roof scene all underscore Moriarty's attraction and jealousy and hints at something more. Why did he bring a gun to the roof and use it on himself? Surely, Series 3 will shed light on some/all of that, but my brain just had to come up with its own explanation before then!
