TWO THINGS:
[1] How come that the more time goes by, the more I think that 513 wasn't a break-up for B/J?
Seriously, the months after watching it for the first time, it felt SO MUCH like an ending that I bawled my eyes out every time I so much as thought about it.
What did you guys think? Did you see it as a break-up or not? And has your opinion changed over time?
ETA: I feel like I should mention that
first: the main part of the "break-up" impression I got from the very last B/J scene. It was so fucking DRAMATIC that I just kept thinking "OMG, they must want me to think that it's the end!" - kinda pathetic, I know. Man, I reallyreally feel stupid right now. And narrow-minded. Or something.
And and! The VERY last scene? They way Brian is dancing up on that podium all alone? That's like... weep, where's Justin, weep. Is Brian enjoying the ultimate breaking free of all things relationship-y?
second: I would under no circumstances have appreciated the situation as it was either. Brian so effin ...devoted and and... and married and no. Just no. So, the dramatic cut seemed kind of reasonable to me.
[2] OMG, TEH RERUN WILL HAPPEN!
ZOMGYaaayy!! I annoyed amelialourdes into starting a big QUEER AS FOLK SEASON 1-5 re-run with moi! We're going to watch one episode per week and then discuss stuff on our respective journals. One week amelialourdes is going to host the post-watching discussion/recap/whatever, the next week it'll be my turn. This all will take place every Thursday or Friday.
So, watch out for our weekly recaps or discussions (I will post links to the discussion not hosted on my own journal) or whatever and JUMP IN! This is the perfect opportunity for all of you who've been wanting to rewatch QaF in big style as well. It'll be just like group therapy. You get to finally watch THE ORIGINAL again, reacquaint yourself with the canon and all the little things you might've forgotten, PLUS you'll have a place to talk about the happenings in the episode, different opinions and random thoughts afterwards!
amelialourdes will make the start this week with 101 and I'm so freakishly excited, I- I... I'm gonna wet myself or something! God, I've wanted to do this for like, EVER but I was scared that I'd be going nuts when left alone with all the half-baked meta in my head. But I'm not alone anymore and you aren't either! <3
