"I can't believe you two!" Jennifer hissed, clutching her purse angrily. "I can’t take you anywhere!"
At least her son had the decency to be embarrassed, whereas Brian did nothing to tone down his grin.
“Sorry, mom.”
“Yeah. Sorry, mom.” Brian’s grin widened even more.
“Oh, shut up! …And that on Mother’s Day!”
“Madame,” the restaurant manager tried to calm her. In his heavy French accent he proceeded, “It is alright. Ze messieurs here will just have to pay for ze broken partition wall in ze bathroom and everything will be fine. Shall I bring you back to your table?”
