This year's Comic Con was probably cooler than all the previous Comic Cons combined, and that's even without going to any big panels. Mainly, I was able to nerd out and buy tons of useless shit I'll never touch in my entire life.
Say, who's that silly, feminine-looking emo rocker with his tight black pants? Why, it's Gerard Way, lead singer of My Chemical Romance! He was at the Dark Horse panel to pitch some new Umbrella Academy project, where kids go to school to learn how to make fine rain accessories.
Behind him a PR guy leers, while the Dark Horse president, who really does look like Gary Busey (thanks Zac) monitors the love fest from a distance.
A boar eating a child:
OH HI TOMMY WISEAU and Greg "The Guy Who Played Mark" Sestero. I didn't see you there!
Most importantly, he signed my copy of The Room, which actually makes it decrease in value.
Sara and I are about to travel to an interstellar world, where the foliage is lush, and people are forced into slavery by alien races who are usually always black.
YAHTZEE!
The power of Castle Grayskull commands me.
Hey thanks, lady. I *will* be blessed.
And now, amazing things that I bought:
ITEM ONE. No explanation needed. Oh, okay, it's a cel of He-Man enjoying a delicious piece of toast.
ITEM TWO. A limited edition (500 pieces!) Kotobukiya Comic Con exclusive Wolverine X-Force bust, SIGNED by the designer Junnosuke Abe, who was sitting in the booth, doing a sculpting demo.
Conclusion: YES!
