Cabbage!
I had forgotten how much I like cabbage.
I was running low on veggies, so I took the long way home and stopped at Publix. If you go to Publix at dinner time, the "Apron's" station is open serving samples of some simple meal that is fast to make. They are usually rather tasty, but they they opt for simple and fast at the cost of cheap and I'm a grad student, so I will probably never actually make them. (At least not exactly following their recipe...). Tonight they had cornflake porkchops with seasoned cabbage. The pork chops weren't anything spectacular, but the cabbage was yum. I concluded that it means I should make cabbage soup in the near future, so I bought a head of cabbage. I'm unlikely to buy a bag of shredded cabbage (like the recipe calls for) and the /only/ way I will every buy pre-sliced green onions is if I desperately need them for something and it is the only way they come. I cannot imagine a situation where I would need them that badly though...
Walking back from Publix to the GLC was amusing. I got to travel much faster than all of the cars. Apparently there is a basketball game tonight.
