ERHURHURHUR. I FINALLY FIGURED OUT HOW TO SET UP WIFI FOR MY POKEMON PEARL. /I'm super retarded
Ahahahahahaha. Now I can, trade or something. I have no idea. But look! I made a trainer card!
D: I needs more pokemons, yo. This is all Colleen's fault.
Ahhhh, I want a mareep. D:
ETA: Oh, oh gods. AHAHAHAHAHA. AHAHAHA OH LORDS I LOVE MY GRANDMOTHER.
Okay, so I ended up emailing my Oma after I came up with the idea of the mareep cosplay, because I don't know too much about making stuff like that, plus I thought it would be a bonding experience. A-and. Oh gods.
Alright, so my grandmother is like, a normal grandmother. She doesn't really get the whole 'anime' thing, and it took me years, years for her to understand it and remember it blah blah, the usual. But she just, she tries so hard, and she's so hilarious, and ahaha. OH I MUST QUOTE EMAIL PASSAGES.
Me: "Haha, so I have a project I want to start, it's making a costume. Like, handmade. But I like, don't know hardly anything about that ...So you think you know enough to help with my project? ...I am going to wear it next summer at Colleen's!"
My grandmother's reply: "Sweetheart - That sounds like an awesome project - and i would love to assist you! ...Just what kind of a costume are you considering? like, what is the event it is to be for? i am guessing right that it has something to do with anime?"
Me:"...(I felt all proud of you when you mentioned anime, haha. I was all, "My gram-gram remembers what anime is!" <3)"
So there is much talk of fabrics and sewing and designs, and amidst all of it, I mention that I got inspired to make the outfit and showed her a picture of mareep.
Her reply to it: "My goodness......it looks like a fluffy sheep with weird ears/horns and a tail with a red ball on the end....(though it probably is not a ball but a direction finder or weapon.....????....- or a sacred place for a treasure...?...)" Lawl, you can tell she's trying so hard/humoring me, and I find it hilarious. xD
I say: "Haha, I know right? Isn't that a cute sheep thing? I have no idea what that thing on the back of it's tail does actually. Haha. It's suppose to have electric powers, so maybe a conductor...?"
LAWL SO AFTER THAT SHE OFFERS: "electric powers....hmmmm....bet Uncle Mike could come up with a battery operated something or other to handle that....."v AHAHAHAH Can't you just picture me walking around otakon with a freaking electric conductor strapped to my butt?
SO ANYWAYS. Amidst all this is very serious talk about the costumes, these are just little side comments, that I find amusing, of course, but don't take much note of. I think I mention the name mareep, like, once.
BUT THEN! Ahahahaha, okay then there is a series of completely serious emails in which we discuss another design I just came up with, how I want to do both but don't have the money, and then how, wait! We can just make a certain part of it removable so it IS both designs. COMPLETELY SERIOUS, OKAY?
AND THEN, OUT OF THE BLUE, MY GRANDMOTHER. MY DEAR, SWEET, OBVIOUSLY TRYING HARD AND AT THE SAME TIME MAKING FUN OF ME WHICH IS EVEN MORE HILARIOUS, OH GODS SHE HAD TO RESEARCH THIS, SHE SENDS ME THIS:
"Incredibly good thinking!! removable and interchangeable...a Transformer Mareep!!
Do you want to get into the egg moves or anything? Do you want to have a #179 on your costume somewhere --- if there is a contest, a little detail like that might earn points. And should you notate somehow the 30% chance of getting paralyzed by Mareep if the static elec. buildup gets someone? and if you get into that, what about if the static elec. builds up, the hair grows longer.....making a section of that retractable would be a huge challenge.....wouldn't you have fun with that!!"
xDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD /dies from amusement.
SHE DOESN'T EVEN KNOW WHAT A POKEMON IS. HAHA.
AHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAA. Okay, sorry that was so long. I'm so amused though.
