Just got done presenting my research proposal to the class. A couple of my classmates gave me some good suggestions for improving my proposal, and the prof was excited about it. She even said that people would be more than willing to fund a project that might uncover a way to defossilize interlanguage. She even said that I don't have to be an academic linguist to do this project. At the start, this was just the final project in this class; now I'm interested in actually doing it.
It would be amazing to produce the research that could change curriculum. Damn, I'm beginning to get delusions of grandeur just thinking about it.
I'll revamp the ELL component of American public education!
Maybe even mainstream American public education.
I'll become Secretary of Education, and SAVE THE WORLD through my wise and effective policy!
And then robots will wipe out most of humanity, and I'll be the highest-ranking government official left, and become President, and...
*cough*
Okay, so maybe not that last bit.
By the way, I've gotten a little bit addicted to lattes. With coffee. They're like pomegranates in Hades: now I can never leave Seattle.
