Thank you, Kirihara-kun, Saeki-kun, and Yagyuu-sensei for welcoming me. I haven't actually posted a personal note here, but perhaps I shall now.
I am pleased with the talent in our tennis club and am looking very much forward to molding a championship team here at Hika. I think I will work with Tezuka-kun well; he seems a very mature boy, intelligent and even-tempered. Rather intense, though. But he is new here, as many others are. But he already seems well accepted as captain, as I expected.
I have not yet decided who might be suitable for vice-captain. My first choice seems to have taken a leave of absence from school already. He's missing the ranking competition altogether. Well, perhaps he can make his presence felt in the next one. I have my eye on three other boys... we'll see. I need to watch them with the others.
With all this talent I can afford to select only the very best. A pleasant position for a coach to be in...
