top most depressing/disturbing movies of all time:
dancer in the dark- i dare you not to cry for bjork.
the deer hunter- christopher walken NOOOOOOO!!!
happiness- fucking ewww.
apocalypse now- did you see what they do to the bull?
road to perdition- I had no idea paul newman was so old.
monster's ball- it wasn't even good, just sad.
winged migration- duh.
I was so unhappy after watching the deer hunter I could not even go out tonight with my friends. it got me to thinking about the draft, and how unjust and unhonorable war really is. vietnam poses so many parallels to this bullshit we are fighting now it makes me nervous. if this was vietnam, the economy would just now be going to shit and people would begin to loose faith in the government. I'd say we were at the end of 1966 or the beginning of 1967. And we don't even pull out till 1975 or something, so we have a while to go. And just like the Gulf of Tonkin bullshit, the good ol president and his crew are having to come to terms with the fact that nothing they said has been valid. I really hate George Bush, and I am not just saying that as some college liberal who wants to sound motivated. I want to see him swing. I don't want him alive anymore. I have never thought about anyone like that.
I think this movie has changed my life.
Also I think my history of american politics class has changed my life.
And to everyone who thinks that they wont be drafted because no one drafts women or homosexuals, or people with dissabilities, remember this: they weren't supposed to be drafting college students or doctors, but they ended up so deperate in the end that those restrictions were lifted. Just think of what Bush is prolly going to lift? Im sure he would just love to send a bunch of gays and poor uneducated people into Iraq.
Guh I hope he reads this. and i hope he cries and quits and lets me be the president.
sorry im depressing but that is one hell of a movie. I mean meryll streep is in it for gosh sakes!
