my birthday weekend...

Had a wonderful weekend celebrating my birthday (it was Sunday, May 2nd). On Friday Michelle took me to dinner at a "secret" location. All I was told was that I should were a suit and it's in DC. Well, turned out she took me to Ruth Chris steak house. This was my first time there, geez o' flip, they have fantastic food. I completely understand now why it's so expensive there. We had a seared ahi tuna appetizer w/ a wasabi-ginger-soy sauce, cesear salads, I had the ny strip she had a filet, and we split au gratin potatoes and steamed asparagus. They even gave me a free desert for my b-day, creme brulee... Friggin' amazing. I was so full and content after dinner we went straight home to relax.

On saturday I had to go to my friend's Bobby and Kelly's wedding. The rain held off for most of the ceremony and getting to the reception. Once we were all at the reception though it really started coming down. I'd say it rained for like an hour or so, but tapered off around the time Michelle and I had to leave. We had to meet my parent's in Old Town (they wanted to take me out to dinner for my b-day, too). We meet at Cafe Salsa; it's a neo-cuban/caribbean place. Very good food and the presentation is awesome. After dinner Michelle and I walked over to Murphy's Pub to get a few drinks and meet up w/ our friends Brian and Katie. I tried to get my parent to come w/ me but my mom said "that's a place for you young people" She cracks me up sometime

Sunday spent the morning sleeping in and nursing a headache (a little too much celebrating at Murphy's the night before apparently.) We got ready and headed up to Bethsda a little after noon so I could drop my truck off at Michelle's place. A bunch of friends meet up w/ us at the mongolian bbq around 5:00. I think we had about 17 all together. It was a fun time, more eating and drinking followed by the staff singing me happy birthday as I blew out the candle on my brownie sundae, yum!

Went back to Michelle's after dinner and stayed the night. She gave me my "official" birthday present then. I thought the dinner at Ruth Chris was my present, but she said that she wanted to get me something too. And I got something truely awesome... a sweet ass gas grill! I can't wait to fire it up. Now I just need to get a deck built out onto the back of my place so I'll have somewhere to keep it.
