What happened to us...

Tenpou ran down the halls, his heart in his throat and soldiers in fast pursuit. He needed to get to Kenren, he could
feel it, something had happened to his beloved.
He could see the sakura blossoms falling to the ground on a pool of cold dead blood, passing through his eyes.
"Kenren, Kenren, Kenren. Kenren, KENREN..."
Tenpou made it to the door and pushed it open. The heartbeat in his chest stopping cold in his throat.
Blood everywhere, and the final salute to the fallen soldier, for his final, selfless act of kindness.
The warm body of his beloved devoured by the sole beast he tried to protect.
Tenpou went cold and all he saw was red.
The memories of this lover's hands around his body, so intimately caressing his skin, slowly fading.
And the only thoughts, "What happened to us..."
Soldiers came at him, and one by one he took them down, and one by one their blood splattered. One thousand
soldiers fell at his feet, and their blood englufed him.
Finally a sharp pain in his lower abdomen, and a whisper in his ear.
"Go, go with him, go with your love, I will take care of the others."
Tenpou looked into red eyes, that carried such sorrow and regret. And slowly he felt his body go numb with peace.
He fell into the pool of his beloveds blood, his pupils fixed, and the smell of sake and flowers came to greet him.
