Gaiden character profiles: Goujun, Tenpou, Kenren
So while I'm waiting for imageshack to get its act together and let me see the rest of the scans from the Saiyuki Reload Graffiti that veronicacode put up, here are the three profiles I managed to get done.
Goujun
Height: about 180 cm (70.9") (almost 5'11).
(OK, now look. Her own group portrait of them at the back of Gaiden 1 clearly shows him a good 3-5 cm (1 or 2 inches for the imperialists) taller than Kenren. Now she has him a cm (half-inch approx) shorter. Height Rule and all, but that's just *silly.*)
Hobby: work
Favourite food: salted boiled greens
(Note: Ohitashi, usually made with spinach over here. Often served as appetizer in Japanese restaurants)
Disliked food: Hot things (you can't tell it from his looks but apparently he's got a sensitive tongue)
(Note: the Japanese is the charming 'cat tongue' meaning someone who can't take hot or spicy food)
Speciality: chess (though he's not much interested in it)
(Note: Shogi, not go. A more common-man, less rarefied game than go; sometimes translated as checkers, it looks to me a lot more like western chess than go is.)
Weak point/ thing that worries him: Personal grooming, skin care. Apparently the latter is a lot of trouble.
(Note: a collection of saltwater spritzers on his dressing table to counteract the dry air of Heaven)
Occupation and position: Administrator of the Celestial Western Army. Responsible for all aspects of the western army.
(Note: I think there's a typo there. Surely they mean 総轄 (general supervision) and not 総括 (summary)?)
Preferences in the opposite sex: Serious and masculine women
(Note: and no wonder I couldn't read that kanji at small resolution)
Favourite colour: silver
Tenpou
Height: About 178 cm? (70.1'/ 5'10) He's never measured himself
Hobby: reading and collecting books. Interested in everything from history to fantasy. Collecting stuff from Down Below, especially physical objects. An otaku at heart.
Favourite food: Ramen. (Japanese) Curry. O-chazuke. Nabemono (hotpot). Mixes rice in with his miso soup and everything else. Likes to eat his egg'n'rice with furikake spice on top.
(Note: yes, Virginia, the supposedly Chinese Tenpou is very Japanese one-dish-convenient in his eating habits.)
Food he hates: He once ate some nameko mushrooms past their expiry date and now he won't touch any kind of mushroom at all.
(Note: nameko are pretty disgusting even before the expiry date)
Speciality: Doesn't bother him to go five days without a bath. (Doesn't bother him.)
Doesn't bother him that his room is piled with garbage. (Doesn't bother him.)
Perfectly happy to go without sleep (though he occasionally loses consciousness.)
Weak point/ thing that worries him: His boundless curiosity
Occupation and position: Marshal of the Celestial Western Army. (After the army was split into the First Platoon and the Second Platoon, he was attached to the smaller First Platoon only)
Preferences in the opposite sex: Someone self-possessed
Favourite Colour: Thinks that the height of art is found in the arrangement of colours in the spinning poles one finds outside barbershops Down Below.

About 181 cm / 71.3' (almost 5'11 and a half)
Hobbies: Fishing. Drinking while blossom viewing. A little weight-lifting
Favourite food: grilled meat and kimchee and all kinds of fish and shell fish
Food he hates: Milk (his stomach is surprisingly sensitive)
Speciality: Shooting. Housework. Fairly good at drawing and calligraphy. Can clean fish. Basically the versatile type.
Weak point/ thing that worries him: The fact that nothing worries him is his weak point.
Occupation and position: General of the First Platoon of the Celestial Western Army
Preferences in the opposite sex: Beautiful women who require a lot of work (because he's a busybody, basically)
Favourite Colour: Black
