Return Post of Doom
I was gonna make my return a massively huge meme-post, with a whole lot of stuff about Doctor Who and Torchwood as well, but I kept not doing any memes and I still have them stored up in a file for memedrop posts when I feel more like it... but I wanted to talk about manga, because I said when I made this journal that that's what I was going to do, and I haven't been, and I want to. And I feel like starting now, so I'm gonna post some reactions to the latest chapters of a few things. (Spoilers (ranging from mildly to very, very big secret-revealing spoilery) for Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles 201, One Piece 518, Naruto 420 and Bleach 329 under their respective cuts.)
And there will be DW/TW stuff as well, at some point.

TRC 201 - FINALLY. Also, WTF?

...actually, once you stop and think about it, it makes a lot of sense - CLAMP have an obsession with doubling after all, and Tak and I actually got pretty close to guessing this - I don't know how we didn't pick it, to be honest, we were talking about the right themes...
And Watanuki being created by "Syaoran"'s wish kind of explains some of what Yuuko said earlier - yeah, he is human and, in some sense, real but it looks like he was right to worry about it. Still leaves the question of why Watanuki gave up his memories, though - to help his other self in some way? "Syaoran" seems quite protective of Watanuki, it makes sense that this could go both ways.
One Piece 518 - I still badly want to know what's on Hebihime's back, and where Luffy knows it from. (I hate her, btw. Absolutely detest her, from the moment she appeared. You do NOT deliberately hurt a cat and expect to be forgiven. EVER. And then the way she treats both her subjects and her supposed allies is as bad. How stupid are these people, anyway? Forgive an evil woman for everyfuckingthing because she's beautiful? It was funny back in Loguetown because it was Alvida, and she was obviously indulging in something that was new to her and it would have been quite a rush, but Hebihime's obviously been trading on this her whole life and it's just pissing me off. I want to see Luffy take her down hard.)
And Luffy escaped the Mero Mero beam, ha! Is it only because he didn't look, I wonder (IIRC, he had his eyes closed both times), or is he actually immune to it? And if the latter, why? Is it connected to sexuality? (Hence the guy who stabbed himself escaping because the pain distracted him from being turned on? And it would make all the Amazons lesbians, but hey, I'm happy with that. XD) We know Luffy's not entirely uninterested in females (Shiawase punch), but I see him as drawn to personalities (or souls, even?) more than looks, and then someone like Hebihime wouldn't hold any interest for him.
I keep wondering how the Amazons reproduce, too, if they never even see any men. Do the pirates go off and sleep with men during raids so they can come back pregnant? And then go live out the back of the village somewhere and have the kids and give them to foster-mothers while they go back to sea? And what do they do with their sons in that case? Kill them? Take them out and dump them on other islands?
Or are they parthenogenetic? In which case, are they not quite human, and is there an Onna Onna no Mi out there that turns you into an Amazon...? (Such crackfic fuel here! XD) Or is there some plant on the island that induces parthenogenetic pregnancies in humans? (And other species too? Could there be no males of any species on the whole island? O_O)
Gah, I want the next chapter to hurry up and come out, I wanna know some of this, and where the others are, and I'm worried about Ace...
Naruto 420 - Not ready to try and talk about the attack on Konoha, so I don't have much to say about this one, except that seeing Naruto finish up his sage training was cool, and it'll be interesting to see what he can do with it. Also, Tsunade's final line is. So. Cool.
Bleach 329 - More about setting up for another set of fights than about plot, but they look like they're gonna be cool, and I'm looking forward to Soi Fon's battle more than I'd ever have thought I would.
Also, Hatsune Miku singing "Still Alive" in Japanese is still the cutest thing ever.
