This is a *gorgeous* adaption of the novels -- love the twist at the end, where Seiran is brought in. ;)

The setting is perfect (fab showing of Ryuuki's isolation, transferring the palace to a castle on the moors), and the humour in the 'Geranium' chapter is perfect--cute deceit on Ryuuki's part (perfect characterization, where he debates how 'good' to behave to get Shuurei's attention, hahahaah!) XD

Well done!

Thank you! I wanted to do more of the first novel/the first anime arc, but I ran out of time.

Ooh, I love this! The writing is so elegant and using Victorian flower language to introduce each of the sections is a clever way to both add to the AU setting and tie it back to the flower language used in the canon material.

And although I don’t believe I ever mentioned it in my request, I do love sibling cuteness! It’s so sweet how Seien sent Ryuuki little gifts and letters and how Ryuuki would write his own and hide them so his brother could read them when he came home. Love the humor of the lesson scene, too. I was particularly amused by Ryuuki’s doodles and Kouyuu and Shuuei letting Shouka make the tea when they’re angry with Ryuuki. :-D

Thank you for a marvelous gift, secret santa! ^_^

Thank you! I'm relieved you liked it -- I was worried about not fitting in more Kouyou and Shuuei. It's true, brotherly cute kind of took over.

Don't worry. I think it came out very well! :-) I know my request was probably hard since I asked for a period setting (I kind of wondered if I should have asked for something simpler ^_^;) but this exceeded expectations!

Beautiful. The imagery that you paint with words is breathtakingly poetic. Your story elicits such a range of emotions that I was still reeling by the time I reached the ending. It definitely pulls one's heartstrings.

This was sad and sweet and very wistful. You've handled the vulnerable side of Ryuki very well. Thank you for sharing.
