Colin enters the apartment after a long day of shooting a new film. He kicks off his shoes and he hears soft music come from the stereo. It's lilting, and he closes his eyes for a second, letting the music wash over him.

"Colin? Are you home?" The sound of his girlfriend's voice shakes him out of it and he walks from the entryway to the living room, where he sees Nana painting.

"Just got here." Colin said. "What's with this music?"

"Oh, I'm just painting landscapes and whenever I paint scenery it's always best to listen to soothing music. Wouldn't you agree?"

"I don't know, I almost fell asleep at the door just listening to it." Nana made a face at Colin and continued to mix hunter green and brown umber paint to paint a tree. Colin pulled up a stool and sat beside his girlfriend, lightly kissing her cheek before getting comfortable. He watched her create a dreary sky, heavy and grey against the deep green of the painted grass. The music in the background reflected the mood of the painting, and it's peaceful sounds made Colin's eyes grow heavy. He felt aches in his body that he didn't know existed. He heard rain drops, and it felt like it fell on his skin-

Colin wonders why he's laying on the ground outside, in the forest no less. He cracks his eyes open, only to shut them closed when cold, fat droplets of rain land in his eyes and it stings. He's soaking wet and he sits up, looking to see his clothes stick to his skin- wait, why is he dressed up like Merlin? Is he on set? He thought they weren't going to film for another 5 months. The soft music still plays and the rain gets heavier. He hears laughter come from behind him, and he recognizes it. Colin turns around to see his girlfriend run towards him, rain-soaked and barefoot. She was in a dress that clung to her skin, and she looked like one of the stand-ins for townsfolk.

"Why are we dressed up like this?" He started to ask, but Nana put a finger to his lips, still smiling and laughing, her face dripping from the rain. Her bare toes were digging into the earth.

"Let's get out of the rain, shall we?" Nana said, pulling Colin up and leading him out of the forest and into a clearing. The rain was starting to let up, and the music softens-

Colin's vision focuses and he sees that Nana has finished painting her picture and started on a new one. The previous picture was exactly like the forest he dreamed about, or whatever that was. Did he fall asleep with his eyes open? That's never happened before. The music still plays and birds are chirping as Nana dips her brush into blue paint and forms a tiny blue bird on a boulder by a stream-

The rain lets up and he and Nana are now by a stream. Nana's dress has miraculously dried quickly and so have his clothes. Nana dips her feet into the stream, yelping a bit due to the temperature.

"Where are you shoes?" Colin asks, putting his hands in the stream to take a drink. He gets a bit and pours the water in his mouth. He can feel the cool liquid course down his throat, and it's soothing. It quenches a thirst he never he had until now. The birds are chirping all around them, and Nana finishes washing the dirt off her feet and walks over to Colin, wrapping her arms around his neck. Colin holds her close.

"Where are your shoes?" He asks again, smiling slightly.

Nana just giggles. "I got tired of them, so I ditched them. The ground looked softer than my shoes." It sounded so odd coming from her mouth, but her voice sounded so musical and jovial, Colin couldn't help but laugh and kiss her nose.

Colin blinks again and Nana finished another painting. It looked just like the stream and meadow he dreamed about, even down to the number of birds chirping. This is weird.

"You're awfully quiet." Nana says, getting a fresh sheet of paper and starting a new painting.

"Just don't want to break your concentration." Maybe he needs a drink. Colin gets up and walks to the kitchen and opens the fridge for a bottle of water-

The sun is setting all of the sudden all of the sudden and Colin's suddenly holding a torch. What the hell just happened? Nana is ahead of him with a small satchel of herbs and a silver dagger in her hand. He doesn't know why they're doing it, but they have to find an Alkanet flower for some Alchemist's stock in a local town, so here they are in the fading sunlight, looking for an elusive flower. Colin doesn't know why he knows, but he knows that wolves come out at night.

"Be careful." He whispers to Nana, and she looks back at him, confused as to why he's whispering.

"Why are you whispering?"

"Wolves come out at night."

"Don't be silly. We're too close to town." Nana peers down at a large stone and inspects a plant, before hurrying on to inspect another plant. Colin stops and listens to the evening sounds of crickets chirping, leaves rustling in the gentle breeze, and the distant sound of the stream. He ignores the sounds of lutes strumming in the background. He assumes that if he tells Nana he hears music in the wind she might think he's mad. Suddenly he hears a lone wolf keening in front of him and he tenses. Waving the torch wildly, Colin runs up to Nana, who is cutting a flower with her dagger. He sees two lupine forms in the darkness run up to Nana, and Colin feared Nana wouldn't react in time to run away. He doubted her tiny dagger would be enough to pierce the hide of the wolves. Gathering energy inside of him, Colin releases a bolt of lightning from his palm, incinerating a wolf that was mere inches from Nana and the other wolf backed off, scurrying off before he was to be electrocuted.

Nana stands up with the Alkanet flower in her hand. She looks at Colin and smiles. "You saved me." She says brightly, kissing his cheek, and Colin blushes so brilliantly it reaches his ears.

"Are you okay? You've been standing at the fridge for about 7 minutes." Nana said as Colin shook his head. He looked at the bottle of water in his hand and he puts it back. He quickly looks at the third painting that Nana did; two wolves skulking in the evening woods, their amber eyes glowing in the darkness.

"I think I need to take a nap."
