do people always expect those of us with body modifications to one day regret our ink, piercings, cuttings, scars, etc?
I swear, anyone over fifty expect me to wake up one day and weep over my tattoo. Or my former eyebrow ring (I week over the fact I no longer have it). Tattoo's are an ancient tradition, as are body piercings and other methods of body modification, it's not some random fad like the perm or bell bottoms that we're going to look back on and regret if proper thought and preparation have been performed.
I can't wait to get my next (a black and purple rose) along with saving up for my main piece (an Egyptian funerary scene).
Each of these, in addition to my Dark Mark contain memories, a deep part of my life. I don't slap a butterfly on my body randomly and call it good, and I wish people would stop treating it like a whim when I've spent decades planning and saving for each piece.
