Such a small postscript to the day that was uneventful.
I've ranted before about how much I completely hate it when people IM me within 15 seconds of appearing online. [People I consider family, ie. Eric, Li Li, Kenneh, etc are exceptions to this rule.]
There's an opposite end to that spectrum.
There's the people who never IM.
Now granted, there are people that have come out and stated that 'No, I'm not the kind of person that really IM's first.' And while deep in my heart of hearts I can understand that, I can't hate them for it because at least they told you up front, 'Hey, IM me first.'
It's the people who have known me for a long time and see me on and I see them on and don't IM me that in a way bothers me. Especially if it's the people that I ALWAYS im first. I saw the one person I always talk to off and on all the time be online and I got not one IM. Even if I'm busy and it's just 'Hi, how are you?'
Call it petty and moody, but here I am, killing myself to ask everyone and their momma how their day has gone and nobody asks me how my day went or how I'm feeling. I just get tired of being the person who cares about everyone else when I get so little in return, some days.
Actually, people did, but they're all on the Suiko X list - we're all happy because we got new members in Harmonia.
I dunno. At least I talked to SC today. I spent most of the day chasing Maddie, and playing Suikoden IV. And eating chicken.
Ugh. I don't feel like ranting about people and how they treat IM windows. But to sum up:
1. Don't IM me within 15 seconds of seeing me come up. And if I do it to you, at least tell me to give you a minute.
2. Close off an IM conversation. Ie. 'Hey, I'm gonna go do blah blah blah, I'll talk to you later.' or 'I'm finna crash, I'll holla.' I hate it when people leave a window and expect us to know from them not speaking that they're just not there. I dunno, I just think if you're in a conversation in an IM window, you should close a conversation in the window the same way you close one in real life. I'm guilty of that too, but it didn't get me until someone I enjoy talking to did it to me.
3. Don't be afraid to IM me first. If you break rule #1 unintentionally, the worst thing I'll say to you is: 'Hey, I just sat down. Gimme a few.' I'm not mean in a window about something like that. In fact, unless you've pissed me off in the last week or so [Brandon falls into this list] I really am approachable in an IM window. Of course, I'd like to think the people that knew me knew I was nice and everything, but some people [and sorry, Bunnah gets pointed out for this one] shake in their boots at the thought of IM'ing me first, which is kind of sad.
I do my best to try to be nice to everyone in my windows, and I don't always do it, but every once in a while I just wish that I'd get the same courtesy that I try to show other people.
A recent example:
[03:41] NyneShaydee: Hey you, I need to crash...it's damn near 4am.
[03:41] Shin Gouken oO: i know
[03:41] NyneShaydee: I'll yell at you tomorrow and you can tell me more, okay?
[03:41] Shin Gouken oO: ok
[03:41] Shin Gouken oO: goodnight
[03:41] NyneShaydee: Nini! *hughugwave*
It's not so hard to talk to people, or say goodnight, or say you'll talk to them later.
Anyway, for the people I talked to today, and even for the people that I didn't talk to today, I'll see you guys...um...later on today.
Today is yesterday's tomorrow.
I love things like that, where you'll be thinking about it for months. *chuckle* And I think I've had too much Coke. ><
