[manga] WTL8 - First Impressions
Got With the Light Volume 8 this morning and burned through it in about an hour.
Just my first impression here.
I loved it, of course, and I wish there was more coming (but there isn't and I'm sad).
But after I finished the whole volume, including the two awesome oneshots at the end, the only thing I could think of was:
What the fuck, Shouhei?!
I mean, did anyone else see that coming?! I can see Eri maybe going with an abusive person like her father at some point, given the cycle of abuse and all that. But I would never have considered Shouhei to be abusive. Ever. We don't really learn much about Shouhei during the series, but I always thought of him as this goofy nice guy. Although a 20-year-old willing to date a 14-year-old is a bit suspect, I never pegged him as an abusive person.
Especially not one who would kidnap his girlfriend and tie her up in his apartment!
