1951 - Direct-dial coast-to-coast telephone service begins in the United States.

1969 - National Educational Television (the predecessor to the Public Broadcasting Service) in the United States debuts the children's television program Sesame Street.

You Are a Fortune Cookie

You're a rather normal person, except that you have extraordinary luck in life.
People want to be around you (even when they're a little sick of you), in hopes of being lucky too!

People Envy Your Compassion

You have a kind heart and an unusual empathy for all living creatures. You tend to absorb others' happiness and pain.
People envy your compassion, and more importantly, the connections it helps you build. And compassionate as you are, you feel for them.
What Do People Envy About You?

It's a good thing I question my grades on exams/papers/etc. more. Tuesday, I managed to earn 11 points back on an exam (the score really scared me) and raised it by about two letter grades. *whew* Turns out the TA doing the grading wasn't used to seeing the work laid out the way I had it and so didn't notice that I did the problems correctly. The TA was different from the one for my section, since I couldn't take the exam the same day as everyone else and taught her students to show their work a different way.
