Today I was playing piano after supper in the common room across from the dining hall and this quiet stoner kid from my music classes who lived next door heard me and asked if I wanted to jam. I told him yeah, but I only had 15 minutes, and he brought in his guitar and amp and we jammed on Comfortably Numb and Maggot Brain for about an hour and a half. Then I taught him the chords to Led Zeppelin's Trampled Underfoot, and we're going to jam again tomorrow. This is a novel prospect, playing through amplifiers very loudly. I'm used to having to quiet down for fiddles, now I have to keep pumping the volume to be heard.
