Explanation and apology...go!

People are really sensitive and quick to assume things. If they can't handle the fuck word, why are they Green Day fans? Nearly every other word out of Billie Joe's mouth is some variation of fuck, and the phrase read the fucking rules before posting isn't particularly rude or offensive compared to the shit Billie says. Hell, I find it rude to blatantly disregard a set of rules a community has in place just because someone is eager to post something. I read every goddamn word of the rules section before I made my first post on Coming Clean. I didn't want to piss the mod off. There's a reason every post looks or should look relatively similar.

Also, I hate how quickly the term fail!post was considered a stab at the quality of someone's work submitted to Coming Clean. Come on now, I'm a moderator. I can't publicly bash the members of the community I maintain. I can, however, express my frustration when it comes to a newcomer's disregard for the rules section. We don't care about the content of a story unless it doesn't include slash. All we ask is that each post has a header, has tags, and has a link to the story or has the story hidden behind an lj-cut. Three measly requests. They're not that difficult to abide by, so when I see a post without one or more of those three done correctly, of course I'm going to die a little inside. Repeat offenders don't help with the disappointment, either.

I don't understand why the new rule is such a bad thing, either. It makes sense considering Molly and I are the only ones who can add new tags. This way, if a new member wants to post, we can make sure they get the help they need and deserve before they post because they have to ask permission first. Isn't that what we're supposed to be doing? Helping the new posters? How do they benefit from our assistance if we're already annoyed that they didn't come directly to us for help in the first place? This new rule is necessary, like it or not.

I apologize if I offended anyone. My words were taken completely out of context by someone who has actually criticized the quality of CC posts. Hypocritical and uncalled for, but whatever. I'm still very sorry :( I do love the community, which is why I get so angry/frustrated when people neglect to read/follow the rules.

Something unfortunate has happened to one of my co-workers. His dad beat him. He's afraid to go home and has been staying at a friend's house for the past two days. I haven't been able to get him out of my mind all day. I want to reach out to him somehow, but I just don't know how. I won't see him again until next Saturday. I'm worried.

His situation, however, may have sparked an idea for a one-shot...

I've narrowed down my college choices to either UW-Oshkosh or UW-Eau Claire. I would have to live on campus for both schools, but Oshkosh is only about an hour away whereas Eau Claire is five hours away. I'm scared. Can I really live on my own? I also don't think I'd handle having to live with a stranger, so I'm leaning towards Eau Claire because my best friend is going there. She also is not a fan of the idea of having a roommate...unless it's me. I'm hoping this actually works out because my mom is beyond excited to start buying shit for our potential dorm.

I did get accepted to Marquette University, but tuition is far too expensive considering my parents just filed bankruptcy. I'm bummed about that. Marquette looks like so much fun, and it's right by the Rave. Oh well. I'll have just as fun with my best friend as my roommate.

Everyone in my family is sick right now, including the babies. Hearing little six month old Lydia cough is just about the saddest sound ever :'(

Streetlight Manifesto were fucking awesome, but Brittany was too sick to go. She had been looking forward to the show for months. Caitlin and I felt so bad, so we took a lot of pictures so Britt could live vicariously through us. I know it's not even remotely close to being here, but it was the best we could do :(
