Summer cold

Jun 21, 2010 22:15

One week ago Friday, I woke up with a sore throat, but it went away while I was eating breakfast.  Then on Saturday, during the gaming tournament at the Library, my throat felt scratchy, and I knew I was coming down with a cold.

Well, on Sunday I felt tired and stuffed up and scratchy-throated and awful.  I knew I was contagious, so I just stayed home.  I was supposed to give the lesson in Relief Society, but I emailed my notes to the President and one of the counselors taught it for me.

But I was committed to be on staff at Cub Scout Day Camp on Monday and Tuesday.  It is so hard to find adults for Day Camp!  I couldn't let them down.

I asked my husband to give me a blessing, and went to bed knowing that the Lord wanted me at Day Camp, too.  Sure enough, on Monday morning I felt OK.  And even better, by the end of a very tiring day, I didn't even feel like I had a cold.  Tuesday was even better, not quite as hot and strenuous.

The latter part of the week and even still today, I have occasional bouts of coughing, but I'm almost done with this cold.  I really feel like the Lord helped me out.
