Nice, family day

Work is so stressful lately because there is too much too do and never enough time to do it.  It was really nice to relax and visit with children and grandchildren on Saturday afternoon and evening.

I went for a walk with Lex and Vee.  I couldn't take more than one one-year-old or I would have taken Maude, too.  I couldn't believe that Vee walked the WHOLE way to the park.  She picked up every newspaper we passed and Lex threw them up closer to the houses they were in front of.

On the way we found a whistle.  There's no playground at the park, just a big open field and a swimming pool.  Lex and I played "Hide-n-Seek".  "IT" closed his eyes, the other one walked away, then blew the whistle.  "IT" had to keep his eyes closed and find the one blowing the whistle using his ears instead of his eyes.  Worked pretty good.  I was able to keep an eye on Vee, too.

Vee was very interested in all the dogs we passed.  One growled at us through the fence, and Vee just laughed and banged on the fence.  I was really glad that one couldn't get out.  Vee walked all the way home, too.  We enjoyed the walk except when I wouldn't let Vee walk in the street.  Then she sank dramatically down onto her knees and wailed.  Lex was a good distraction, and his silliness got her going again.  He pretended to be a lamppost, a tree and a cat.  I love his imagination.

When we got back, Vee, Maude, Lex and I went out in the back yard.  Thank goodness there's no chiggers in the winter.

Later in the evening, Vee and I went out in the front and rearranged some of Rob's rocks.  Vee would put the little ones on top of the rock "bench".  Then she would push or throw them all off.  Then she would dance around and squeak excitedly.  It was so cute.  What goes on in those little minds?  She also liked the full moon.

Oh, yeah.  And Lex was so pleased with the song he had just learned from Alvin the Chipmunk "David likes to wear dirty underwear".  Whoo, boy.  He's getting to THAT age.

I DO so appreciate Rob and Sioux for getting us together so often.  Wish I'd had more time with Kyrie.
