Yeah, this is really sad. I had to rush home from Starbucks because I suddenly wanted to know Shion and Dohko's birthyear, 1712. It's because I was thinking of all the internal struggles going on in China and Tibet at the time and thought that such justice-oriented people must surely have been seeking to help the people and free them from the invading Manchus. Muhuhahahaha. They're born a year after the Qianlong Emperor, who was 24 when his reign began. The guy also has a lot of baby-swapping stories associated with him. I actually wanted Shion and Dohko to be born a little later than that because I wanted to put them in the Red Flower Society at the same time as Chen Jialuo but that's ok too. A little fudging doesn't hurt either, especially if the years are close enough. Or perhaps this is just pre-Chen Jialuo. There's always the previous leader of the Red Flower Society. Always tempted to have Dohko originate from Guangdong (because I want him to speak Cantonese) and end up at Lushan because that's just where Athena sealed up the Hades Specters. And yeah, like in merueru's fic, I'm sure Shion thinks Shaka pretty strange/amusing/annoying.
