Shura had been found on the streets of the city that had seen his birth. Covered in mud and dried blood, he didn't look any different from the many children that huddled under the tiny roof, away from the rain that would not stop falling.
It didn’t come as a surprise to the boy when the stranger reached the alley and walked to the group, his eyes fixed on him. The other children whimpered and squeezed themselves against the wall, away from the man that hid his face under a cloak, but the hand that reached out towards them had only one destination and it wasn’t them. The large fingers wrapped themselves on Shura’s thin arm and pulled him away from the group.
In a broken Spanish the man asked him about his parents and his home. The answer to both was the same: he had none.
"Come with me," the man ordered, raising to his entire height. Shura didn’t even reach his waist. "You can have food and a bed."
Shura knew there was more to that offer but he didn't need to be told. He had been born just for this chance, this moment. Only through that truth he had been able to survive.
From under the large cloak, the man took out a paper bag and handed it to the boy. The smell was enough to hint him off that it was food. Although his stomach roared, he did not open it. Instead, he gave it to the children under the roof.
"Share it. It's for everyone." From behind the strands of hair that were glued to his face, a rare smile could be seen. They said nothing as their hands tore it open and dug in, eating the first thing they grab a hold of.
Shura looked behind him to the man, who waited by the end of the alley, and began to walk. He didn’t hesitate as his steps neared the stranger. Even if he would never get to see his face or know who he was, Shura would follow him without a doubt.
After all, he would take him to the place he had been destined to.

Nothing exists beyond the limits of the Sanctuary. Beyond the hills, the ruins and the small village, there is a world that he doesn’t wish to acknowledge. He knows his birthplace lies there. He knows his master’s birthplace lies there. His training place, that was his home for five years, lies there too.
And yet, he doesn’t wish to hear anything about it. Because it’s not the world of Shura-- at least, not of the Shura he is now. The Capricorn Saint’s world is reduced to the hills, the ruins, that small village and the temples that surround him.
It’s a small world the one he lives in and at times he feels he’s the only one inhabiting it. He knows it’s due to the Sanctuary’s nature, where it never feels crowded. Where silence is stronger than the sound of life.
But he knows that feeling is wrong, because there are others besides him. Eleven others… eighty-seven others… countless of others that live under the same sky.
There is a world beyond the Sanctuary, one where his eyes wouldn’t be able to see the limits like he does now. But he doesn’t care for it, because it isn’t his.
His birthplace is the Tenth Temple, his training grounds the coliseum, and his home the Sanctuary.
His world is the world of Athena.
