SUMMARY OF THIS CHAPTER:
*is so fangirly and incoherent that she has trouble putting together the words to explain*
OMG ALL THE GOLD SAINTS' PREVIOUS INCARNATIONS LOOK JUST LIKE THE MODERN ONES! GEMINI AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ *EXTREME JOY AND HAPPINESS*
Onto the summary, sorry. XD;;;
Summary:
Shion (who by now has been a gold saint for a while, it appears, just like Dohko) just came back from killing specters in Tibet and joins the other eleven gold saints for a special meeting with the Kyoukou.
The Kyoukou announces them that the specters are getting more and more active all over the world, and that the war will beging soon, which is why he has reunited them all here, to protect Athena and the Sanctuary. :D *fangirls*
It switches then to the narration showing Sanctuary, talking about the 88 saints, etc., and we see two saint trainees fighting, and the guards commenting on how it's always impressive to watch them train. They start then talking about Tenma, who arrived a few months ago, and who is said to have accidentally discovered how to use cosmo on his own. He was brought to Sanctuary by Dohko. (We saw this on the last episode. :D ♥)
So, Tenma has been training in Sanctuary for several months now, but hasn't been able to use the cosmo again (although he can still sorta feel it). Dohko drops by and explains to him that it was because when he managed to use it, he was so desperately in need to save his friends, that he burned his cosmo to the maximum and managed to use it etc.
Dohko explains to Tenma how cosmo works exactly, and breaks a rock as demonstration. Tenma is quite impressed, and Dohko says that since fate has made that he'll be staying in Sanctuary (instead of travelling / being sent in missions etc) for a while now (due to the war approaching), he'll be looking forward to be able to come bug Tenma daily.
Tenma is annoyed that he wasn't able to use the cosmo again since that one time back then, and that because of that, he doesn't know when he'll be able to become a saint and return to their village as he promised to his friend.
As he gets up to train more, he feels a weird sensation, as if his friend Aron had just passed next to him.
He thinks he felt the other boy's cosmo, but he doesn't realizes yet that what he thinks is the feeling of that cosmo actually feels that way probably because it's a divine cosmo...so when he runs after the shadow that just passed by, thinking it's his friend... it's actually Athena!!! O____O
Note: people in this manga sure look like teenagers already, but the author keeps mentioning how they're actually very young. (maybe early adolescence?), so we don't know yet whether Athena has fully awakened her powers/conscience yet or not.
Other note: Due to the nature of katakana spelling and wild "this-sounds-like-a-cool-foreign-name-lets-use-this-for-a-character" things that go on in Japan, nobody is sure yet how to exactly spell the name of Hades' host in this generation. Some people go with Aron, others Alone, etc. I'll call him Aron for now, and if it turns out later that it's spelled differently (oh, please Kurumada, put it in western letters somewhere so I may finally stick the boy in a fic without worrying about his name. XD; *lol*), then I'll go and change to the proper spelling. :)
Also, Sasha will remain Sasha until we know for sure whether it's Sasha, Sacha, or whatever else. XD;;;;
Either way, it would seem that little Athena used the moment the Kyoukou and all her gold saints where together to escape her temple and go explore Sanctuary. Bad idea. XD;; *lol* (I guess that since she's divine, whether she can use her powers consciously or not, she probably can easily sneak past her saints if she wishes so).
So, Tenma runs after her thinking it's Aron (Hades' host), and is even more sure when he sees a glimpse of her arm after she turns around a corner: she is wearing the same bracelet that Tenma and Aron wear.
So Tenma latches for her arm and grabs her, making her fall and scream, which in turn makes him notice it's a girl. (<-- He is a bit slow perhaps. Although I understand not being surprised by Aron in a dress at first. *lol*)
Athena falls on the ground, and he recognizes her as being ....Sasha, an orphan girl who used to live in the same orphanage than Aron and him!!
We can now ponder whether Hades purposefuly picked a host that grew up next to her, or whether Hades caused the boy's fate lead him to that orphanage so that he would get close to Athena in the early childhood of her present host, or other things, and what were his plans....
Either way, my guess is that Tenma was just in between by luck. XD *lol*
In any case, Sasha grew up with them for a while, but then left the orphanage when she was adopted (or so the boys were told...but in fact, she was taken to Sanctuary as she was the reincarnation of Athena! /*000*/ I now have tons of plot bunnies with Hades & Athena.)
At first she doesn't recognizes Tenma (perhaps she was taken to Sanctuary very young), but when he mentions Aron, and shows the flowery bracelet he's wearing (made by her, she made three for Aron, Tenma and herself...and I can only hope those are fake/fabric flowers, not real ones, or they wouldn't last as long), she perks up and remembers them.
Also....she calls Hades's host "nii-san", which I find quite funny/ironic.
Nii-san= "big-bro", but in this case not as in her real brother, just as in an affectionate way of calling someone who's close to you but older (otherwise, Tenma would have said stuff differently, it seems they were just friends, the three of them, not blood relatives).
After she remembers them and says she's missed them, the ground kinda blows up with something coming out of it, and Tenma is hit and thrown backwards........ Raimi, the Worm specter is attacking Sanctuary by surprise, seizing an excellent opportunity to kill the young Athena and ensure the victory of Hades' armies!!
So we can only guess that next week, we see tentacle attack on sexy young Athena!!! *__________* Tenma be able to use the cosmo again to try to save her!!! *___*
---------------
Also, I have to say that the thing with the gold saints being identical is one of the best news I've received in, like, FOREVER. *_________* SAGA!!! KANON!!! Even if it's not exactly them, it's still their previous incarnations! *DELIGHT*
Also, this makes me think.... the Kyoukou whose face we haven't seen unmasked yet... there are quite big chances he's Kanon or Mu! *___* Or Saga, if Kanon is Gemini! *___*
I'm so deligthed by this!! *___*
Also, because people might wonder why they look the same: Japanese fans love the gold saints (hence the publishing of Episode G, also), and are more likely to buy a series/merchandise/whatever-you-offer-them if they have the characters they already love in it, rather than whatever unknown new character. Hence everybody looking the same.
It's certainly not by "lazyness" as I've seen in some forums. 9_9
Considering it's the previous incarnations of those people, I don't see a problem with it at all even on the logical side, after all, it's up to the author (in this case, Kurumada, who's writing the plot) to set how reincarnation works for him.
On the fangirl side, I'm delighted and wouldn't mind even if it did pose a problem on the logical side. XD *lol*
Ahhhhh, JOY! *clings to beloved gold saints*
