A little better
I think my doctor is not thrilled with Kaiser practices either. After I had calmed a bit yesterday I called and scheduled an appointment with him this morning, to which I took all the information the dentist gave me. Apparently this was a good move, since he put in a request for a "Referral to an Outside Entity". Which, he explained to me, meant if I was approved Kaiser would have to treat that doctor as an in house doctor for coverage. He seemed thrilled to be able to buck the system on my behalf. He did start me on a new medication which may or may not help with the TMJ, but it makes my case better for an outside referral if he's started some form of treatment as well. (I'm not sure how, but that's what he said.) He has also told me that I should use the message system on the kaiser website to ask him about things and not waste my money making appointments (again, sticking it to Kaiser) for things that he can request for me without me coming in.
So now I wait a few days to see if I get approved. It's not great, but at least it's progress.
