the error of sympathy

Tonight, went with Matty to see our old professor, Dr. Forman, give a lecture titled "Telling the Truth and Sustaining Hope for Patients and Caregivers". He brought up some interesting theories of doctor-patient relationships and also the controversial "being empathetic decreases physician burnout" card. I got a couple ideas for titles of my as of yet unwritten books of poetry. All in all pretty interesting in addition to further proof that Dr. Forman is probably the best doctor, ever.

Also, have you been to the BioMed center recently? The lobby's been redone! Who knows when I was there last, so this might be a stale revelation. It's like being inside a commercial for Pfizer. All glowy and clean and streamlined and blue. It was actually quite taken aback. But then I looked down at the floors - untouched - which are Burger King circa 1991 and it felt like home again.
