Title: Added Scene to 'Persistance of Vision' (not really a title, just what it is).
Rating: PG-13 (some swear words)
Pairing: B'Elanna/Chakotay
Disclaimer: I don't own Star Trek, or any of the characters (otherwise season seven would have ended differently)
Author's Notes: It's not a totaly huge B'Elanna/Chakotay thing. I wrote it cause the world could always do with more B'Elanna/Chakotay stuff. Just bear with me.
B'Elanna Torres walked slowly to her quaters. After what happened today, all she wanted to do was curl up in bed with a good book and a cup of peppermint tea. Yes, she had to work the morning shift the next morning, but her nerves had been rattled and she felt she deserved the book and tea. So, wrapped up in her thoughts, she arrived at her quaters to find the last person she wanted to talk to.
Chakotay.
Ater her heart's desire vision thing she had, she wasn't quite ready to see the commander, especially in her quaters. "I hope you don't mind me coming here so late," Chakotay said, with a smile on his face.
"No, not at all," lied B'Elanna. She was secretly happy to see Chakotay. She knew he would never like her in the more than friends way, but she was an optimistic half-Klingon, so she had hope. "Make yourself comfortable," she told him. She knew he liked the Captain, she had seen the longing look on his face when they were talking. She wished she was the Captain.
"So, what did you see Chakotay?" she asked.
"Nothing special. I was just back on Earth with the person I love. What did you see?" he asked whilst sitting down.
"You wouldn't wanna know," she replied.
"Try me."
B'Elanna sighed. How could she tell him that she was silently wishing to be whisked away by the First Officer. "Kinda bit like yours. Just I wasn't on Earth, I was in an escape pod with the guy I like."
"Sounds interesting. Listen, I need to ask you something."
'Oh no! He's heard. Bbut how? I haven't told anyone about it. Oh hell.'
"B'Elanna?"
"Are you sure you want to talk to me? I'm not exactly the best with advice."
"Don't worry. Just go with your heart." Chakotay sighed. He didn't know how to ask her about love. He knew she had some feelings for him. He had seen it when they worked together. "There's this person I like, I constantly think about, and I need to ask her if she feels the same."
'Shit.' "Just tell her. Say, 'Hi. I'm gonna be perfectly honest with you. I really like you. Do you like me?' or whatever comes to mind."
Chakotay sat there for a moment, mulling over the advice he had been given. "B'Elanna?"
"Yes?"
Chakotay drew in a breath. "Lanna, I like you, quite a lot, and I hope you like me too."
B'Elanna sat there, shocked. Did Chakotay tell her that he liked her? "You're kidding?" He shook his head. "You better not be Tay." She kissed him, but there was something about it that didn't feel right.
"This isn't right. Chakotay, you're not supposed to like me back. You're supposed to like Janeway. I've seen you when you work with her, just watching her sometimes. You don't like me. Tell Janeway how you feel about her."
Cchakotay stared at her. It was true he liked the Captain, but he thought it was a passing feeling. "Lanna, how would you feel if I didn't tell Janeway how my feelings just yet? Could you keep it secret, for the time at least?" B'Elanna nodded. "I hope you don't hold it against me if I kiss you again."
"I wouldn't hold it against you, as long as you tell the Captain one day," she replied, a tad melancholy.
Chakotay kissed her, brushed his tongue against her lips. Gaining entry, their tongues dueled. She broke the kiss, gasping for air. He had kissed her like that in her vision. With one final stolen kiss, Chakotay left, feeling as if a burden had been lifted from his shoulders. B'Elanna sat dazed on her sofa, until she decided to go to bed, and not think about her day.
