Well, if you're under eighteen, you'll get an apartment and food for free. Everything else, however, you'll have to work for.

Sounds like a curse.

That's good. At least it's not an emergency. I think I'd like to be able to buy new clothes and things, though.

That's what other people have told me. You know.. it.. really doesn't seem so bad so far.

I know what you mean! That's why I have a job, myself.

There are mild ones and then there are the worse ones. Sometimes, a "curse" is even something pleasant, but that happens rarely. Mostly, they're annoying.

Really? What do you do?

..Ugh! Do they happen a lot? I can't believe anyone thinks subjecting other people to that is funny!

Just household stuff... basically a maid.

Every other day or so. Some people have a strange sense of humor.

Oh.

That's.. pretty frequent. 'Strange' is one word for it.

Yes. It's the only thing I really know how to do, so...

I know. Well, okay, usually there's between one and... three or four days between them. They usually last twenty-four hours, though some last longer.

Do you like it?

Thank you, Rin. You've been very helpful.

Well... okay, I guess. It's often annoying, but at least I feel like I'm doing something.

Again, no problem!

Well.. that's the important thing, isn't it? You don't want to go stir crazy here!

Exactly! A diversion is nice. Something to busy yourself with. Make yourself feel a little useful.

Yes..

Can I ask you one more thing? If you don't mind too much.

None at all! Of course, I don't know if I can give you a satisfying answer, but I'll give it my best shot!

Someone told me that people have gone home from here, but nobody knows how. Has anyone ever, on purpose, tried to get out?

Plenty have tried, among them I. But no one that I no of has ever succeeded.

I'm sorry to bring back any bad memories.

But.. if that's the case, then what they have they tried?

I need to know what hasn't worked.
