1. Actual Human Byproducts, as there are few to no facilities for the homeless to use to "relieve" themselves
2. Humans who are a waste of space. I do not believe that they are always a waste of space, or that specific humans might not again become contributing members of society (i.e. Valuable again)... But, for the vast majority of those who wander the streets... They are doomed to consume resources that could be better served elsewhere and we need to come up with some sort of solution where they are not in the way of those of us who have raised ourselves somewhat. I speak from the context of someone who went from great heights to great depths (and living on the streets as a piece of human filth). At one point, society would have been better served if I had just been issued an ultimatum: Die or move on to something else.
I know that sounds harsh, but the vast majority of those who you will encounter on SF Streets are simple predators out to exploit anyone or anything they can. They need to be contained in some manner (I know... This is sounding like concentration camps or something of the like - I do not go that far, but my solution does include places for them to live where they would be out of everybody's way... I would allow them outside of these places, but I have discovered that if they are allowed to live someplace where their consumption of drugs and alcohol is not interrupted... They won't leave it as long as they want to abuse themselves to death... At least that is, unless they have a change of attitude and decide that they want to rise above that position)...
In any event... Be ready to defend yourself from predatory homeless junkies..
Now, about that College Of Arts... I would make certain that it is accredited, as I have learned that there are a few SF Art schools whose credits are not recognized by other schools. I had a friend who went to get her Bachelor's Degree from one of these schools, and when she tried to get into Grad School at a real University; they said "What Degree?" Now, she is having to go through a real University to repeat all of the work she did, and discovering that they offered her a really sub-standard education..
I think though, that iif it is an Official College or University of CA that you will be OK... Actually, that is University.... I would watch out for the "Colleges" that are not affiliated with Universities... I would email someplace like SFSU, or UC Berkeley to ask them what their position is regarding transfers from that school... If they don't recognize them... I would think about another school...
I've heard horror stories about how places like the Art Institute chain and AAU aren't accredited and are basically great big expensive scams.
I'm sorry to hear about your friend, may I ask what art college she went to?
Hm. Even though I've read up and made sure that CCA is accredited, I think I'm going to take your advice and see if SF's local universities would accept CCA's credits... Just in case...
And thank you for the insight, it is much appreciated. :)
Human Waste has two connotations here:
1. Actual Human Byproducts, as there are few to no facilities for the homeless to use to "relieve" themselves
2. Humans who are a waste of space. I do not believe that they are always a waste of space, or that specific humans might not again become contributing members of society (i.e. Valuable again)...
