I ran (so far away).

It's official. ("I can't have children..."~Debbie Downer)

I'm registered for the Nike Run Hit Wonder race. Earlier this year, Nike started this race in Los Angeles, New York City, Portland, and Chicago is the last date of the year. Each previous race has sold out. The schtick is that they get one-hit wonder bands from the 80's performing for the runners along side the race route. Very cool.

Proceeds benefit a program which helps kids become more athletically active instead of how I was when I was younger.
Date: September 23, 2004
Beginning Time: 8:10pm (or so)
Ending Time: (based on my history of timing) anywhere from 9:40 to 10:00pm
Length: 10K (6.2 miles)
Chicago Location: Grant Park - Lower Hutchinson Field near Buckingham Fountain (I need to find out where this is.)

And quite importantly...

The Bands:

A Flock of Seagulls
Tone Loc
Tommy Tutone
General Public
Kajagoogoo canceled. Curses!
Some mystery band (without any clues)
Devo (at the finish line)
Training has begun and in a couple weeks, I'm going to try my best to follow the training schedule on the website. I ran 3.5 miles last night and I didn't feel exhausted. I suppose it is true when they say it gets easier in time.
