lookin' up

My return to Victoria has been nuthin' but fun, fun, fun!

After arriving last Wednesday, I've since spent a few very chillaxin' evenings in Lisa and Geof's New West apartment, attended Jen's baby shower where I got to catch up with Jen, Crystal, Danielle, and Nat AND got to meet Jason's little nephew Isaac who looks very much like a lil' Loxton ;), spent an evening drinkin' and watching episodes of Little Britain at the very lucious apartment of Crystal and Danielle (at one point, Crystal and I interrupted the quiet evening inside to don some waterproof gear and head out into the stormy storm. We ended up sloppily walking, with beer in hand, to Gonzolez Bay where we splashed around in the ocean...late at night...during a storm...with all of our clothes on...drunk)...where was I? Oh yeah...

Then last night I spent my first night aboard Dee-Light...wee! It was super calm and cozy and I woke up at the buttcrack of dawn to water so still that it was like mercury. I promptly went to my interview early so I could find a nearby coffeeshop and read my Plant Phys book (in case they try to stump me with complicated sciency questions). What I found was a coffeeshop RIGHT IN THE SAME BUILDING...as well as a freakin' gym with a $30-somthing monthly fee! The job interview went very well--probably one of the easiest I've ever gone through--and I got it on the spot. I start tomorrow at 7am...oy. In fact, the hours will be 6am-2pm, which kinda works out for my plan to get a second job. I'll wait on that for a bit.

Sooo...

Gonna work the rest of the week, contact folks to give them my updated phone number, get a gym membership, search for another job, head to Van this weekend to get some more of my things (including workout attire), look into buying a new bike, look into getting some local organic produce delivery deal-io.

Still no word from JCU. I received an email from OzTrekk stating that they're contacting them about the delay--I love dealing with a company that's so on top of things (I didn't even have to contact OzTrekk about this said delay...THEY contacted me!)...

Hoo boy.
