BWOOOONGGGGGGGG

So I just saw Inception for the second time, and yes, date gets bonus points for taking me to see it. ^^ Also, thank velociraptor I did, because there's a ton of things I noticed that I'd either forgotten/missed the first time around.

For one, Robert's dad's name is Maurice. I don't know where I got the idea that he was Robert Fischer, Jr., but I need to go edit Killing Kittens.

Also, the very first dream -- Mal looks at this really cool twisted painting and says it's Arthur's style, and later deduces that the whole dream is Arthur's based on the setting. I find this interesting for two reasons, one, because it gives some insight into Arthur, and two, because Cobb tries to subtly deny that it's Arthur's dream, which makes me think he's protecting him, which is adorable.

Also also, Eames has serious daddy issues, doesn't he? Like, half his lines are about Robert's relationship with his father. Also, he's gotta be like a psych major or something, because damn but he has some impressive insights into human nature going on.

Mmm, what else. . . Ah, I find it really interesting that Cobb was so against letting Arthur know that he was having Mal!troubles. I mean, when Ariadne gave him the ultimatum, he decided that he'd rather have a complete stranger know his serious mental problems and a novice go into the most important job of his life, than just tell Arthur. Which is. . . interesting. Their whole dynamic is interesting.

And just studying Arthur and Eames and Arthur and Cobb's interactions. . . yep. They really are fascinating. And wondrously slashy, when viewed from behind my goggles.

Also also also, Arthur-in-the-elevator is really giving credit to the plan I had for my nervous breakdown square on hc bingo.

Also also also also, Arthur is a total GQMF. I know there's all that squabbling in the fandom going on about him and his suits, but yeah. He is.

And it was nice to just get a refresher course in how the dreamtech works, because I tuned out some of the technical stuff like that the first time I watched it, in favour of trying to keep up with what the hell was going on and drooling over those aforementioned suits.

So, yeah. It's still an excellent movie the second run around, and has managed to become one of my favourite movies of all time. Which probably doesn't sound that surprising, but for me, it really is.

(And JGL's face in the van was just as fucking hilarious the second time, too, and I'm glad I wasn't the only one laughing hysterically in the theatre this time, every time they cut away from that amazing zero g fight scene ((did I know I had a kink for men in suits running on the ceiling? I do now.))  to his slightly stoned, dopey smile.)
