The weekend is almost near...

It's getting towards that crunch time in the semester right before everything is due. I'm so far keeping sanity. At moments, I did experience utter hopelessness about my grades, my housing, my future, and well, just add whatever else you think is proper on the list. I just got off of work at 3 p.m. which worked out well. Right now, I'm waiting for my mom, dad and sister to show up. I'm taking Sarah to see the All American Rejects and Washington Social Club. They're both playing at my school tonight and I figured the kid would enjoy seeing a good show for once. I'm also going home after the concert. I am going home this weekend for a few reasons...

1. To get away from my roommate. Currently, she's being very fucking weird and I don't think I can handle her right now. I'm tired of "causing" shit.

2.To take home stuff that I don't need here. It just makes more sense to bring home shit now so there can be room in the car when I do move back home in a few weeks.

3.Spring Fest at Frostburg State is happening this weekend and it looks like a lot of fun. I'm sucker for spring carnival stuff.

and now for the final reason...

4. To go home to see Parris and I know you and everyone else (aside from a few close friends) are probably thinking "who on earth is he?"

I wish I had time to go into details about him. I swear I will tell stories someday soon. He's a nice guy and we're right now "friends." and I guess I could say that we are currently "seeing" each other. I'm not falling in love, I am just really fond of him. He's refreshing in a lot of different ways and so far, it's been good. I'll be honest, I'm seriously looking forward to seeing him and getting a hug (and well maybe a kiss or two). But keep in mind everyone, I'm not turning into some lame ball of mush.

This past week has been rather amusing. Classes haven't been too bad. I thought I was going to hell in my anthropology class and I found out that no i'm not and that salvation is at hand! If things go according to plan, I'll be in the school of journalism by this July and it will be mindblowing awesomeness. Speaking of Journalism, all of the news stories I've turned in for the past 2 weeks now, I've gotten nothing but A's. Fuck yes!!! I feel awesome, because I'm starting to re-learn my talent with writing.

Tuesday evening after my meetings for LSA and WMUC, I went out for burritos with Eric. He's so awesome. We've been discussing hardcore and writing lately. I think he's gonna form a hardcore band. If that's the case, I just might play bass in it. We'll have to wait and see though.

What other good things have happened... Oh I am playing soccer in my free time. My friend Sami started this awesome facebook group called "Late Night Football League." Each day or so, we get little updates about when everyone is going to play soccer at night. Yes we love playing at night and sometimes we do have afternoon meetings. We usually play on McKeldin Mall or in Cole Field House. The people who show up to play or watch the games are mostly wmuc djs. But we also have kids from some of the campus activism groups and then a few random ones too, which is fun. Tuesday night was my first night attending. I haven't played soccer in ages. I used to play it a lot when I was a kid though.

So I show up a bit late. We were playing on McKeldin Mall. Everyone was there at like 10 pm. I got there at like 10:45 pm. We played until midnight. I was on one team for a little bit just trying to chase the ball around. Then for the next game, I was on a team with sami and his friends. It was funny, because everyone except for me had no shirt on. Yes I was the only girl on the team. So it was shirts vs. skins & the girl with the green t-shirt haha. I played backyard defense as one of my friends put it. I would chase shit around when it came towards the goal. I did a lot of good saves and blocks. I also almost knocked over Adam, Wmuc's station manager...aka my "boss", which was pretty funny incident. As James (sami's friend) said, "If you stop or keep moving forward, it's not your fault. It's that player's progrative to keep moving in the direction they choosed." So I don't feel too bad about it haha. Unfortunately, my team lost by like a point or something that night., but it was so much. Last night (thursday) I went out for soccer again. Same place and all that stuff. However, I did show up on time! score! We just played and goofed off last night. I made some pretty rad blocks though. and the shit talk was funny. Yes we love talking shit while playing haha.

Hopefully, I'll be able to update this weekend. I still have so much to write about. In the meantime, go check out this blog I'm doing for my women's studies class project: www.weirdliving.blogspot.com

enjoy and take care!
