Today was good
Today, I woke up at 8 am and got ready for work. I got to work and found out that i wasn't needed, which was great, because i wanted to spend time with my mom. As a result, my mother and i spent the afternoon in Hagerstown doing some shopping. She got a new bathing suite. I got the new INXS album! (scoreeeeee!) and I got the new issues of AP and Punk Planet magazines. We also got the tickets for She Wants Revenge. (and you thought i was over that band ha!)
Now about she wants revenge... Back in april, the last time i saw them before DM, i told them that I was going to be there, even though they may not even see me. In may, I messaged both Adam and Justin a lot over myspace about that concert and the concert happening July 12th, which is 10 days before my birthday. I wasn't suspecting much. At the Depeche Mode concert, about 20 minutes before SWR's set, I ran into Adam and gave him the flowers i got for him and justin. The idea behind that was inspired by what smith fans would give morrissey. Anyways, so they knew I was there at the gig. I had photo passes for Depeche Mode and SWR, yes i got photos of both bands. hopefully, i can post them soon. Anyways, after taking photos of SWR, I go back to my awesome seat with my mom, sister and my friend Andy. It was funny, they were all sitting and singing along. Well, my sister and I got roudy between songs and would scream and cheer and crap. I was afraid we were embarasing them, because obviously they could hear us in the pavilion. we were pretty close and not many people were there. I am minding my own business between one of the last few songs of the set, and out of nowhere I hear justin say "I have to give a shoutout to someone who is here tonight. Megan, I know you're out there and that your birthday is coming soon. We love you." I about died. Yeah I think I did fucking die. My friend, sister and mother all freaked out too lol. what was really funny is taht my friends who were right up against the stage were cheering for me, and Justin said "look megan, these people love you too" and that was thanks to my good friends Jessica and Spanky. so now you know what on earth happened. It was quite crazy.
So let me bring it up to now... So the whole birthday refernce is about the July 12th show. I told them that since I don't normally have a birthday party that I wouldn't mind just celebrating about a week early with them. Today while in Hargerstown, My mom and I bought tickets for the show, which is happening at Sonar in Baltimore! I am quite thrilled about this. I guess the idea is simular to what my friend liz had happen at the Tiger Army show on her birthday last year, which is basically we showed up with a cake and had the party at the show. this time around, my family is bring me a cake and we're all gonna have fun with swr.
A few other SWR related things. I'm on their top 8 for their street team's myspace!!! and here's a photo of me taking photos of them:
here's a hint, i'm with a black tshirt on, blonde hair that is pulled back. and i'm all the way up front by myself haha. it's awesome! I couldn't believe that my friend found a photo of swr and was like "this is from the show you went to!" and i said "yeah i'm in the photo!" good times.
as for Depeche mode, they just fucking rocked my socks.
Anyways, back to the rest of today... I rented some movies. I've been on a huge kick for Daniel Day-Lewis. I tried to find the boxer, but they didn't have it. So i rented The Ballad of Jack and Rose. I think what i'll have to do is just buy the boxer and in the name of the father, so i will have both of them. I get this craving to watch In the Name of the Father and I have yet to see the boxer. I'll do an entry explaining why i love these movies...
I also rented Walk the Line, because I am in the mood for some Joaquin Phoenix too and well, johnny cash is the man. I think Johnny and Bono are two of my heroes.
Tomorrow is the 4th of july... with that in mind, (thank god and) hurray for the declaration of independence, freedom of religion and the constitution! To Anne Coultaire, I am a Patriotic, Christian Democrat! yes that's not a contradiction fools! I had to write this in just to be funny and honest.
My plans for the 4th tomorrow is to help my dad with the BBQ. we're doing beef ribs and beef Brisket. Let's just say we're doing Texan BBQ that will make even George W. jelous!
