i do realize i haven't said much at all lately. i've been missing in action. well, it's more than that i think. I just haven't felt like writing. I wish i could tell you all about how incredible it was to get a shout out at the depeche mode concert from she wants revenge, but it's old news now. any past story telling is old news now it feels like.
My sister graduated from high school back in the early part of june. I started summer classes- statistics and sociology. I am almost done both classes. I also have a job for the summer as an office clerk at the Frostburg State University Foundation. On june 9th, I got my new golden retriver! he's a puppy at the moment and his name is rudy. we named him after the song "a message to you, rudy" by dandy livingstone (which was also covered by the specials). Back on June 22nd, my newfoundland named Bubba died at the age of 11 going on 12. He was terribly ill and just had to be put down. Thank god i have rudy. I couldn't imagine not having any dogs here.
oh and one more thing... the music column i thought i had, turns out i didn't. I am starting to get sick of being bullshited by a certain newspaper. I'm highly considering of starting my own music magazine on campus. But i'm wainting to see how i feel when i go back to school.
Aside from all of this, nothing else has happened really. I guess that's a good update or overview since the last time i gave a real update.
so far for pop culture stuff:
-the new afi album has grown on me. I do like it, but it's not their strongest, however some of their best songs are on here perhaps. As for my feelings aside from the music criticsm, for the most part, its' a beautiful album and emotionally, it's helped a bit.
-last night i watched "In the Name of the Father" for the first time in almost 10 years. It's been since summer of 1997 or 1998 since i've seen it! It was on tv to my surprise and it was nice to see something realistic and honest for once. It's one of my favorite movies of all time. Not to mention, I love Daniel Day-Lewis. If you haven't seen this movie, I highly recomend you do. here's a link that basically sums everything up about the history behind the movie (yes it's all based on a true story):
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/northern_ireland/4249943.stm - finally, i am addicted to this great program on BBC America called Hex. Let's just say I wished I had a fallen angel following me around haha.
okay so hopefully, i'll be back more often. Sorry i've been gone, but atleast i'm not dead or something!
